Brilliant oven, easy to use and performs perfectly. Full of features and at this price it's really good value. Great service too. from removal of the old oven to installation, communication and plenty of updates along the way. Service couldn't be better!

    Pyrolysis

    2/5
Pyrolysis system in this oven is awful. I had to scrub the grease out by myself.

    Good oven, frustrating control system

    3/5
Quite complicated to use, we still have the instruction booklet out next to the oven after 2 weeks to refer to the different functions. Haven't yet managed to get the grill setting to work for example, probably user error or it may only work when the oven door is closed but still experimenting. The timer function is not separate to the oven settings which is quite frustrating and not necessarily available on all setting types, we have ended up using a separate timer since it is such a hassle to modify. Without setting a countdown timer the display counts up when the oven is turned on which is useful when actively cooking on the hob at the same time. Very minor point that the black touch buttons show up every fingerprint, might be a bigger issue for some. Otherwise, the day to day oven functions work well, it is plenty big enough for a small family and it seems to be energy efficient as advertised according to the smart meter - still too new to have used the self cleaning setting. And do make sure to run the oven for an hour at 200C as suggested in the instruction booklet with the windows open, the new oven smell (totally normal) is one to purge ASAP!

Great oven, even baking, controls leave a bit to be desired

    4/5
We bought this to replace an 18 month old Neff that gave disappointing baking results due to its uneven heat distribution. The new Hotpoint Class 6 is superior in every way: better looking, features like a soft close door and pyrolytic cleaning, and (finally) nice, even cooking, although we've found that food tends to need a touch longer than previous ovens, but it's a small price to pay. An oven thermometer shows that this oven keeps the temperature bang on what you've set it to, unlike most ovens that are often up to 20 degrees too high or low! My one criticism are the controls. We're no technophobes and knew what we were letting ourselves in for from other reviews, but I'm sure other people may be a bit flummoxed by the touch controls. While most ovens let you change the temperature and program at any point during cooking, with this oven you must set everything "up front" - turn the oven on, select a program, then the temperature, and then the cooking time. Once you press Start it's more or less set in stone, so you lose some flexibility, e.g. if you want to extend the cooking time then you're limited to leaving the oven on after it has "beeped", but you can't set a new timer. The alternative is to turn the oven off then go through the process of setting the program/temperature/time again. It feels like they've made it "hi-tech for hi-tech's sake", rather than just keeping things simple.
