Excellent, energy-efficient & water-efficient machine. However, as a result of its low energy consumption, the programme durations are long. Unless you have 3.5 hours to perform an 8kg cottons or eco wash, I would recommend using the 40C mixed load programme. Although the maximum load for this programme is only 4kg (still a decent armful), it only takes just over 1 hour for a load of normally-soiled laundry. The relatively high residual moisture % after most of the wash programmes means you may also have to use the spin/drain programme after each wash before you hang out your washed laundry or put it in a tumble dryer. Fortunately, this only takes about 13 minutes with a 2.5-4kg load. At a maximum 71dB, this machine is one of the quietest on the market, although it is still quite loud if you are in the same room when it's on a 1400 rpm spin. Before using this machine for the first time, Bosch rightly recommends you run an empty washing cycle using the drum clean programme. This is a good idea, but it may take 1.75 hours to complete. Before you install your machine, make sure you take a note of all of the numbers on the ID rating plate on the back of the washing machine. You will need the product number (E-Nr), the 4-digit production number (FD) and the 6-digit Z number to register your product with Bosch for the warranty. Also make sure that the delivery drivers/installers leave you with the transit bolt screws and the plastic sleeve holders before they leave. You will need these if you ever have to move your machine to a new property.

Even at 1400 spin the wash is very wet. Really surprised at that because my old 800 spin speed was much drier - so these spin figures obviously mean nothing at all. Besides that, it is not bad and very quiet.

Really like Bosch washing machines but the programmes are too long on this one. Need an hours wash but this does 2 1/2hrs My last one was a Bosch and lasted for years. I thought I was upgrading to a newer model. There are a couple of shorter times but the spin has lower speeds on these. Very frustrating. If I had known the above, I wouldnt have bought it so,sadly, I would not recommend this washing machine..

Very pleased with this super quiet machine. Lots of useful settings. Love the quick wash setting which only takes between 15-30 minutes. I use the mixed load setting the most which allows you to adjust the temperature and speed spin. With “speed perfect” selected it only takes about 1 hour for the wash.

This washing machine is so quiet that we can now leave the laundry room door open, and you can’t even tell when it’s on. Our old one was old 8 years old but made so much noise. The fast wash cycle is also a great option. OK, it’s not the cheapest you can buy, but this is a perfect example of ‘you get what you pay for’.

Excellent machine, paid for installation and removal of old machine but could not be done by the people delivering so had to find a plumber who could install and council to remove old washer.

The machine broke within two weeks. Under the Consumer Act, I am entitled to have a replacement machine from AO. They tell me that Bosch have to send out an engineer to check it is actually broken. Absolute waste of time and meanwhile I am two weeks without a machine. I was not that impressed with the machine to be honest but it was my choice so down to me. Very noisy machine though given it is called and EcoSilent product.

Very impressed with this Bosch washing machine so far. Very quiet and easy to use. Clothes come out drier than with my previous machine. I’ve mainly used the ‘Mixed Load’ setting, which takes 1 hour and gives very clean results.
