Not what I had hoped for
2/5
I am undecided about this washer/dryer…
Previously I had separate machines and drying was a doddle in the big drum - I could set low or high heat and any length of time from 1 minute to over an hour. If it wasn’t quite dry, I could just close the door and give it 10 more minutes.
Now, however, trying to find ‘drying only’ is a job in itself! Yesterday, I needed to finish off clothes that had been outside on my whirlygig. After about 15 minutes using a magnifying glass on the user-unfriendly instructions, I set it to go on “cotton dry” and was hoping for “put away dry”…then I heard the water pump kick in and I started to worry.
Thirty minutes later the clothes were warm but more damp than when they went in. So I gave it a 30 minute setting but, again, water pump kicked in and I gave up when I opened the door thirty minutes later to similarly damp clothes!! My old dryer would have finished them off in ten minutes.
The washing is actually relatively quiet until the spin which had my kitchen floor vibrating and island unit shaking crockery items towards the cliff edges.
I am going to have to persevere but am not looking forward to the winter when I will need to dry clothes inside…WHY do they feel the need to add water at the beginning of a drying only cycle?!?
