    The next best thing

    4/5
The Nespresso vertuo line in my opinion is a game changer for coffee lovers! I thought I loved my bean to cup coffee machine. Well let me tell you, I knew nothing. The crema, OMG the crema… I never liked black coffee or espresso on its own. But since I had a few samples I thought of challenging myself and trying it just for fun and if I don’t like it, just add milk. Well for the first time in my life I downed several espressos and a black coffee. (My Favourite flavours are: Altissio and Stormio) I’m so grateful that this machine comes with a great sample of 12 different coffees because it gave me the opportunity to appreciate just how delicious and superior in taste Nespresso coffee really is. The samples included 4x espresso (1 decaf), 2x double espresso, 2x lungo (like 4x espresso size) and 4x americano style coffees (mug full). This machine is very compact and stylish machine and it really delivers barista-quality espresso and coffee with just a touch of a button. You will never voluntarily set foot in a high street coffee shop ever again. If you do their coffee will disappoint you. (Trust me ??, never regretted a coffee as much this week). The machine heats up quickly and is incredibly easy to use. It actually feels very sturdy and high quality. I have other machines in the same price range and they feel cheap and plasticky, not this one. The variety of coffee and espresso pods available is amazing, offering something for every taste bud. I also absolutely love that there’s an app???? Yes! I got a notification this morning saying my machine needs my attention! Your machine connects to the wifi, and registering it it’s a piece of cake, you go in the app and put your phone next to it, put your wifi password in and voila! The machine registered to yourself and for its warranty!! Plus, it will send notifications if the machine runs out of water and remind you of regular maintenance. Yes, a thousand times to the capsule waste compartment. Love that feature. Now although I’m very enthusiastic about the machine there is one massive downside: the pods. You can only source them at Nespresso and they have a minimum order quantity of 50 capsules, which can be somewhat expensive and not great. They do have subscriptions, which seem to make pods more cost effective, but if cost of pods and availability are a concern (I think you should at least consider it in the grand scheme of things..) look into those before committing to buy. The next thing I don’t like is the size of the water reservoir, it’s only 500ml, so if you’re making several coffees in a row (more than 2 long coffees) you’ll have to refill it often, the shame is the was space to make it slightly taller in line with the machine and make it 700-750ml in line with other brands. Another thing which I find strange is that you can stop a coffee while it’s going (by pressing the button at the top) BUT it takes several seconds for the flow to stop (probably 4-6s) which if you’re risking your cup overfilling it will unless you’re fast. My other machines stop immediately. The flip side is that if you want a longer espresso from the capsule, you can press the button at the top (within 45s) and it will give you extra water! Lastly, the drip collector is useless. It is a moveable part that you HAVE to remove to accommodate mugs. So you have to wait for all the coffee to be finished pouring 100% or you’ll get your worktop dirty.. Personally I think it was not designed well, as it’s easy to loose (if you don’t use it often due to mug size) but also it doesn’t really look part of the machine.. One thing that would make this my favourite machine would be if it had an arriccino included (obviously for a slight premium) as I love frothy milk with my coffee. So all things considered this machine gets a solid 4.5/5 and I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

    Lovely coffee machine

This is a beautiful-looking machine with plenty of different colours to choose from. It is very compact and fits nicely on my work surface. It came with a selection of pods to try which was a great starting point. I went onto the Nespresso site and joined their subscription service which I think is a brilliant service. Delivery was quick and easy. The only downside I have found is that it's rather noisy however I am very happy with it.

    Great machine for quality coffee

    4/5
I have looked at purchasing from Nespresso for a long time and this little compact machine caught my eye! Although it’s slim it’s quite long on the counter top not that that’s a negative. The water container holds enough for 2 mugs size coffees. It is easy to set up and sync with the app. The app is there with helpful videos , to reorder your pods on, if it runs out of water it’ll send you a notification and in time will tell you when your machine needs maintenance like descaling. I was extremely impressed with the flavour profiles with each coffee from the smallest espresso to the large mug size coffees. The pods are easy to put in , however it takes abit to get used to and remembering on first usage to wait 30 seconds before pressing the button while it heats up . Water builds up where the pod goes and at first I thought this wasn’t intended but seems it does this to help heat the pod up. I did have so a factory reset as it stopped brewing. I followed the instructions and it was resolved.. in 2 hours. This is a blip and down to user error I believe it’s never done it since. All in all, we love the machine as the flavour of coffee is delightful. Really for a coffee lover who likes a thick crème lair. The down side is the availability of pods and the price! The vertuo pods at the moment are only available from nespresso but in time I am sure this will become more readily available. Prices of pods are on the nespresso website and show price per pod. I would recommend having a look at this before purchasing as it’s I would say it’s good to see what the prices are of the coffee when choosing your coffee machine. It’s still cheaper than your local coffee shop prices though ! I did receive 12 sample Pods to try which was great to try some different flavours and will help me figure out which pods I will want to try in the future . 4 stars due to the price of the pods but love the machine. The only negative and it’s a small gripe is , it is louder than I’m used to sounds like a mini aircraft taking off at first but it’s a small inconvience!

Good practical way of making coffee

    4/5
I had owned a Nespresso machine in the past so I can really tell the difference with the Vertuo range. I love how compact the machine still is but they made it way more time saving as now you don't need to pop out the capsules every time you make a coffee as there is a section for discarding the old pod and it can fit quite a few used capsules in it before you have to empty the container. The quality of Nespresso coffee is fantastic and I love how you have a huge range of options to choose from. I purchased a subscription for the capsules as you can only get those directly from Nespresso (either online or in store) as they now read a type of barcode and the machine will know when to stop the water depending on the capsule, so you don't need to worry about which button you need to press to each type of capsule. I downloaded the app and it was very useful to set up and do the first cleaning round it also calls for my attention whenever an old capsule is in instead of a new one, but I would find it more useful if I could start the machine to make my coffee in the morning from the app. The subscription program is very handy as they will also collect used capsules and take for recycle but the coffee capsules can be very expensive if you are like me and drink a lot of coffee during the day. Another downside in my opinion is that you cannot fit the drip tray (which is far too big for the machine) and mugs, only if you are making small coffees like an espresso, which makes it mostly useless. Overall is a good machine but there is still room for a few improvements as most things, so I would recommend to others.

P.S, yes I bought a few of these machines… oops. The Nespresso vertuo line in my opinion is a game changer for coffee lovers! I thought I loved my bean to cup coffee machine. (Some of the coffees mentioned do NOT come free, I ordered them as part of my subscription, but you can go in store and ask them to try it for free).
