I will give it 5 star now its all up and running but to be honest it took two of us two data to figure it out setting it up connecting to the wi.fi so so confusing why doesn't anybody come out with a plug and play printer especially for us older folk

Ok , I’ve been in the industry for 20+ years. This is a good printer, clean crisp, and fast, the scanner is good. And the deal with 5 extra toners makes it a brilliant deal. Now let’s get real, you have to have a usb printer cable, which it does not come with, in order to connect it to the computer, this is where the fun starts. Most computers now don’t have cd-Roms, so the disc is usless. You would think in modern days they would send a memory stick. You would think that setting up the wireless would be simple, you would be wrong, you first have to use a usb cable to the computer, then download the full software from the v]brother site, and go through screen after screen, with please wait, scanning ect. Until you get to the I want to set it up wireless, this process is a bit long winded. Once done, you can disconnect the usb cable you had to. Buy separately and no longer need. As for printing from the likes of iPads and phones, air print, nope ??. You can download the brother software , and print for that, but in a. Or mail workflow, you just want to hit print and the printer appears. Brother have let the side down on this one. So overall, a good printer for desktop use. Great quality. 3 stars 2 stars taken off for no usb cable which becomes defunct after setup, and the longest tedious setup of a printer. Then no AirPrint ! Epic fail.

This Brother printer was very easy to set up and use in my home office. It prints quickly and clearly and I would highly recommend it. Factor in the extra 5 toners that came with it and I would say it’s a bargain buy.

The printer is excellent. Easy to set up for wireless printing. Quick to warm up and monochrome print compared with my old Samsung lcokour laserjet. Colour scanning is good and relatively quick to a PDF document. It is very compact. The main printer unit is robust. However, not sure the dimensions included the very flimsy and I suspect very prone to breakage foldout, input and output paper ledges or shelves. Not really a paper tray as such. It came very well package. Still clever design and only time and usage will tell us how good it is. First impressions are excellent. However, took one star away for flimsy trays. It's fine in my home but I suspect that in a small office environment, I they'd get damaged or broken very quickly, particularly people trying to reload the small paper capacity quickly. .
