Really enjoy the phone and what it does. Haven't had a new phone in 5 years. Small bit disappointed in battery life using 5G but if I'm desperate I can just buy a spare battery and keep it handy. Love the ethics of this phone and love that I can replace just bits of it or upgrade bits of it

Love the phone and the fact I am making a positive choice for the environment with this purchase. Fast, easy to use and great camera.

I bought the Fair phone 5 because of it's sustainability credentials. All parts are replaceable at home, and it has a 5 year warranty. However, it is not supplied with a charging lead or plug, to reduce e-waste, on the basis that most consumers will already have a suitable lead at home. I have the correct size lead, but the new phone is proving erratic in it's changing behaviour. I would have preferred if a new lead and plug had been supplied with the the phone. I have contacted AO customer services and I am waiting for a callback to resolve the issue.

So far so good. I had an iPhone before, but it seemed very wasteful to have to change it so soon after it was out of contract because the battery was no good any more. This one says you can change the battery - and a whole lot of other parts - as and when you need to. I'm looking forward to finding out. But not straight away! The phone itself is working nicely. I had to wait a couple of days for the SIM card, so I only got connected on Friday and didn't receive many calls over the weekend. Having bought the Fairphone outright, I was able to get a very good deal on the SIM card, so I won't be paying out lots of money every month for two or three years. But I'm glad I had space on my credit card so soon after Christmas. I'm sure that, if you are used to an Android, the learning curve is less steep. I'm really glad that I have made the change and look forward to making good friends with my Fairphone.
