    Product Overview

Power through the week’s laundry pile with this white washer dryer from Haier. With an 8kg wash and a 5kg dry capacity, it’s great for medium-sized households. And if you have sensitive skin, the Anti-Allergy setting uses higher temperatures and extra rinses to get rid of 99.9% of allergens, like dust and pollen. Plus, you can select the I-Refresh Function to give your clothes a quick refresh with micro vapour technology – so you can get rid of that annoying muggy smell if they’ve been hanging in your wardrobe for too long. The Direct Motion Motor is perfect for open-plan living too, as the brushless magnets mean it’s really quiet.

    Features we love

Entertain guests without the background buzz

Haier’s washing machines are the quietest on the market, thanks to their beltless Direct Motion Motors. Using less mechanical components than traditional machines, the motor produces fewer vibrations – which in turn reduces noise levels for quieter spin cycles. Not only is this great for open plan living, it also means you won’t use as much energy, saving you a pretty penny in the process.

Clothes stay fresh and free of germs

Anti-bacterial treatment, or ABT, ensures your clothes and machine are kept in tip-top condition. ABT is used in the detergent drawer and door seal, where low levels of zinc kill microbes and eliminate 99.8% of bacteria. By preventing germs and mould in damp areas, your garments will stay clean, soft and smelling fresh as a daisy.

Enjoy a glass of red without worrying

With an added boost of steam during selected cycles, stubborn stains don’t stand a chance. When steam combines with water, the temperature inside the drum rises – causing the fibers in your clothes to relax. This means they can absorb more water and detergent, resulting in a deeper clean and more effective stain removal – so you can indulge in a fine wine without fear of spillages.

    Hygienic cleaning without chemicals

When you have items that just need a quick refresh rather than hours soaking in the drum, the I-Refresh mode is ideal. It uses micro vapours to reduce wrinkles and open up fibres to give clothes a gentle clean. So, you can throw in your favourite outfit when you have a last-minute invite to go out on the town and it’ll be ready fast.

Auto clean system for a healthy machine

Your washer dryer will always be kept in tip-top condition, thanks to the Dual Spray cleaning system. It automatically removes the dirt and fluff from the gasket and window after every cycle, so you know your machine is as hygienic as can be, keeping clothes healthy and your machine running smoothly.

    Just what was needed

This washer-dryer seems great. We needed a shallow machine and this was recommended by Which? You just need to watch the drying times as laundry is locked in until the finish time - there’s no opening the door a bit early to get your uniform out for work.

Excellent machine, very quiet, with standard washer dryer annoyances!

This is my first own washing machine ever, I always previously having been using a local launderette. I find this type of product a bit difficult to rate, because the issues I have with this particular example are nearly all simply issues I'd get with any domestic washer dryer, and so although I'll mention here some annoyances and inconveniences, in relation to this type of machine it appears that I've bought an excellent example that should serve me well for a long time. I had no alternative choice to this model, actually, because my kitchen's washing machine space wasn't quite deep enough for alternative models I might have preferred. This one has a nominal depth of 46cm. The machine looks smart, and although its range of options looked daunting at first, it took me only a day or two to feel at home with operating it, and working out what would be the most practical setting(s) for my own laundry (just mine, so machine usage would be relatively light). I much wanted as quiet a machine as possible, and really, in my open-plan living / dining room and kitchen area, for the most part it didn't draw my attention during the Eco 40-60 wash cycle, except through its mouse-like quietness. Understandably the final spin (at the full 1400rpm) was louder, though subdued compared with the equivalent spin on the machines at my (ex?) launderette. What was distracting and indeed occasionally startling, however, was the range of quite loud cough, burp and gurgling noises the machine caused in the kitchen sink. The drying cycle was rather noisier, and the repeated coughs and gurgles in the sink really started getting on my nerves. However, I'm not docking any stars for that because I'm aware that I'd get the same from any machine of that type connected to my kitchen sink drainage pipe -- it's simply one of the wash-time purgatories that I'll just have to put up with! My preferences would differ somewhat from those of the average user, because this capacity machine appears to be aimed rather at 'medium' households, whereas this is just for me, and my loads are generally only lightly soiled. I thought the Eco 40-60 programme would be the best for me, but it took a hideous amount of time, just on the wash. If I remember correctly, it was about 2h 24min, which was brazenly excessive with regard to my own requirements. Next time I'll try the Fast programme, which at least progresses at tortoise rather than mini-snail pace, taking about an hour less! To me that still seems a pretty excessive duration, but it appears to be the shortest 'proper' wash available. I'd adjust its options for 30 degrees wash temperature and 1400rpm spin speed, so economizing and minimizing drying time afterwards. There was one really stupid and quite unnecessary detail that caused me some concern, with regard to one thing in the user manual. In the section on care and cleaning, item 3 tells the user that, in order to prevent blockages of the water input, (s)he needs to remove, clean and carefully replace the water inlet valve filter, on a monthly basis. -- The catch is that the manufacturer is asking the impossible of not just me but presumably most ordinary domestic users, because, in order to do that one would need to get at the back of the machine. Most such machines are installed into snug under-worktop spaces, and thus are not user serviceable for anything at the back. I also found that the Terms & Conditions both for Haier warranty repairs / service and also for the relevant Domestic and General operated longer-term Care Plan specifically exclude routine service inspections, so apparently the user is left on their own about that. I phoned Haier Support about that, and a really nice and good-humoured guy there was surprised by my raising the issue, which he hadn't heard of before. Apparently it's a general assumption that the user doesn't try to get at that particular filter, and except in real hard-water areas the filter would be unlikely to get blocked within a machine's lifetime, or at least such a blockage would then just be treated as a breakdown that would be covered by the warranty or Care Plan. -- Well, with crossed fingers, I'm reasonably relieved about that. At least the pump filter, which I guess really would need regular cleaning, is perfectly accessible at the front.

    Quiet with useful settings

Very quiet. Light inside the drum handy for loading/unloading. Would rather buttons than touch panel for settings but has a sensible selection. Only had it a few weeks but seems to do the job well.

It took a little time to work out how to operate the appliance to get the best results, the instruction booklet could be clearer. Once we had worked it out the results were very good, the appliance is very quiet and per our smart meter more economical than the appliance it replaced. A good buy and we would recommend it to others.

    Great washer dryer

This is the first washer dryer I’ve ever had and it’s been great so far. Loads quieter than our old washing machine, a few louder bits but we don’t mind. It’s got a lot of options and the manual is really useful for which settings to choose. We went for it as well because of the depth. A lot of the other washer dryers of the same kg were a lot deeper so this suited our kitchen space. I would definitely recommend it.

We want you to get up and running straight away with your new appliance, which is why our expert team will connect your new item to your water pipes and make sure everything is working properly. Connecting it yourself? Make sure you remove the transit bolts. These will make a loud rattling sound if they’re left in place when you run a cycle.

If you’ve bought a new appliance but you don’t want us to connect it for you, all you’ll need to do is disconnect your old one and empty it, ready for us to pick up.

If you haven’t bought a new appliance, we can still collect your old one and take it away for recycling. Our experts will recycle it safely and responsibly in our state-of-the-art facility.

The cost of our Remove & Recycle service goes towards safely transporting the product to our recycling plant. Under the WEEE regulations, recycling costs are primarily covered by the product manufacturer.

Also, while we’re picking up your appliance, if you’ve got any smaller kitchen electricals that need recycling – such as kettles, toasters or blenders – we’ll happily take those away too at no extra charge. Just pass them to your driver when we’re picking up your larger appliance.
