Now I can put more clothes in the wash and having 1600 spin helps a lot with the drying time. It has a good variety of programs, you can wash a small or a big load, the steam option is perfect for shirts and trousers. I am using the mix load programme very often, the clothes come out really clean. The machine is not noisy at all, I don’t even hear it when is on, the only downside is that if you have small kids like me if you forget to lock the programme they can easily turn the machine off and you will have to start the programme again.

Having run close to 15 loads of washing on various loads I am very impressed with the performance of the machine. The pro sense can cause all sorts of extensions and reductions to the time depending on load size or what is actually in the machine. There are a number of different programs, some for everyday use, and some that appear to be more "faddy". for example, I don't know when I would use the reduced crease function, as much of my washing goes straight into the dryer. the machine was easy enough to set up, water to water, waste to waste and then you can add to your life by downloading the app and get notifications as to when the load is about to finish. it will also ask if you want to add extra spin or similar bits, all from my phone. This has also reduced the time a finished load sits in the drum as I can shout at my teenagers to empty it as soon as the door unlocks. The final part I really liked was the ability to make 3 custom pre-set load options. I love to boil my towels to within an inch of their life, so being able to set a HOME-Towels load that washes at 95 degrees, then steams them before spinning at 1600 RPM is heavenly. Coming from an older machine, I am in awe at the moment of just what the machine can do. Oh I nearly forgot to say, the 10kg load now means I can easily wash my double duvet without having to put it on an extra spin cycle to make sure its as dry as possible when I pull it out of the machine.

It looks expensive and very modern but it is still easy to use with the handy dial in the centre of the drum. The washer is also very quiet my previous washer was very loud and you could hear it upstairs but this one is almost silent. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to friends and have already done so.

This review is based off a few washes and I’ve tried to utilise different settings on our new AEG Washing machine. The Mixload 69 minute setting appears that it’ll be the main work horse function. The machine comes with a ProSense Feature that automatically adjusts the washing time with the weight of the load, giving me the satisfaction of knowing I’m not wasting water or energy. I’ve also dabbled with the ProSteam function to refresh a formal shirt and this certainly was a feature I never knew I needed; getting rid of that stagnant wardrobe smell and creases. I have noticed that the clothes come out virtually dry, unlike our older other branded machine that always required a separate additional spin to remove all the water. Clothes have come out feeling soft and not having that ‘horrid cardboard feel’ that they can sometimes have. One of the features I never paid attention to while buying this Machine was ‘Universal Dose’, until I’ve seen the benefits with it. Simply put, the laundry detergent liquid is dissolved in the drawer before it is dispensed into the drum and this means your clothes come out much cleaner. I have work clothes that I thought were permanently soiled and stained with dirt and grime as they always came out like this from our old machine, however after a wash in this AEG they have come out virtually spotless. The build function of the machine is very solid, sturdy, and fills me with confidence that it will last years to come. The drum on spin modes is super silent and you can even barely hear the washing machine filling up with water. I’ve yet to download the app to work this washing machine, however I can’t say I was drawn to this function as I feel this might be more of a gimmick, however I will get around to setting this up and will leave more detail on this when the time is right. Like everything in life you get what you pay for, and I’d certainly have no hesitation in recommending spending the extra and considering getting one of these washing machines.
