    Tips for measuring up

    Freestanding range cookers come in different widths, so you’ll need to measure the space in your kitchen to find the right one – usually either 90cm, 100cm or 110cm. Also check the depth of the space, and add on a couple of centimetres to allow for gas pipes or electrical sockets. Most range cookers (excluding gas range cookers) will require a 32 amp outlet – look for a big red switch to show you have one.

    Now used all functions. Easy to use, a good buy if a deal is on, looks fantastic in any kitchen. Even husband says looks awesome........... Cooks his chicken strips to perfection, so definately easy to use. Does make odd sounds. Like the grill oven door rattles a bit when main oven is on.

    Oven seal repeately fails, heat breaking the whole cooker.

    The oven seal of the main oven has failed twice during use, heating up the entire outside of the cooker to dangerous temperatures, and this heat causes the circuits of the induction hobs to fail and break. I waited almost a month for Smeg to complete the first repair so the cooker could be used again, then it failed again on the 25th December during use, again making the whole cooker dangerously hot and on the 17th Jan I still have no engineer date confirmed or any information on how any resolution of this will progress. In the 9 months I have had this cooker I have had to take 3 days off work for engineer visits, and had a non-working cooker for almost 2 months. I'm hugely disappointed not only with the quality of the appliance not being fit for purpose and having a fault that is dangerous, but with the terrible, slow, customer service. Looking around at other reviews online I have found numerous people having the same issue with the oven seal. This fault cannot be unknown to Smeg.

      We’re taking a sensible approach to the changing COVID-19 situation, and so we’ve had to make some adjustments to our services.

      If you’ve bought a new appliance but you don’t want us to connect it for you, all you’ll need to do is disconnect your old one, empty it and place it by the entrance of your property, ready for us to pick up. Or, if you’ve ordered our connection service with a new appliance, we’ll disconnect your old one for you.

      If you haven’t bought a new appliance, we can still collect your old one and take it away for recycling. However, as we won’t be able to come into your home to disconnect it, you’ll need to make sure it’s by the entrance to your property, ready for us to pick up. Our experts will recycle it safely and responsibly in our state-of-the-art facility.

      The cost of our Remove & Recycle service goes towards safely transporting the product to our recycling plant. Under the WEEE regulations, recycling costs are primarily covered by the product manufacturer.

      Also, while we’re picking up your appliance, if you’ve got any smaller kitchen electricals that need recycling – such as kettles, toasters or blenders – we’ll happily take those away too at no extra charge. Just pass them to your driver when we’re picking up your larger appliance.
