Accept & closeCan’t be bothered getting the iron out? We’ve come up with a few ways to banish wrinkles without it. That’s a win for your weekend and your wardrobe.
Getting the ironing board out and putting it away can feel like a chore in itself – so, let us be your laundry day heroes. Bookmark this article for the next time you fancy skipping a step or only have a couple of bits to iron. Not only does it tell you how to remove pesky creases without a full setup, we’ve made a list. That’s right, you’ve got options - have a play around to find what saves you the most time and effort.
Lie your outfit flat, place a damp towel over it, and press gently with your hands to smooth creases – this one’s great when you’re away since your suitcase won’t do your clothes any favours.
Roll your fave top inside a damp towel, leave it for 15–30 minutes, then unroll, smooth it out, and hang it to dry.
Mix equal parts water with a small amount of liquid fabric softener. Spray it onto the creased areas and leave it to air dry.
A handy optional extra: add a drop of essential oil (like lavender or eucalyptus) to your DIY spray for a scent boost – and just wait for the compliments.
Hang up your top or trousers in the bathroom and the steam from the shower will naturally relax creases. After, gently pull the fabric, let it dry, and your clothes will be ready to wear.
If you’ve got a tumble dryer, this one’s for you. Pop your dry clothes in with a damp towel and tumble for 10-15 minutes on a medium heat. Remove them straight away to stop new wrinkles forming.
Some models even have steam settings that let you chuck your creased clothes without needing a damp towel.
Next time you’ve got a few odds and ends that need attention, you won’t have to set everything up or wait for a pile to grow before you wear it again. That crease-prone top is about to get a lot more outings.
