- How to install a built-in oven and hob?
To install a built-in oven and hob requires both to be lifted and placed into their spot in your kitchen. However, depending on the type of appliance, it will involve some electrical or gas work, so we’d recommend having an expert do this. You’ll also legally need the oven and hob checked by a qualified electrician or gas engineer to make sure it all meets safety regulations. With our installation service, we can deliver and set everything up for you. Our fully qualified engineers will have it sorted in a jiffy, so you can keep thinking about what you’ll cook up first.
- What size cable is needed for an electric oven and hob?
The size of the electric cable depends on the wattage you’re working with. For anything up to 7.2kW, you can use a 6mm cable. But if your cooker has a higher power rating, then a 10mm cable will be required. However, you do need a certified engineer to check everything and make sure it’s safe. - How to fit a gas hob and electric oven?
Fitting a gas hob requires hooking it up to a gas supply, and an electric oven also requires some complex electrical work. With both needing to be certified by an electrical and gas engineer, we’d suggest letting an expert take care of it.

- How to clean an oven and a hob?
If it’s time to deep clean your oven and hob, you’re going to need soap, warm water, and a little bit of elbow grease. Luckily, we’ve got an entire cleaning guide to make this easier.
Starting with the hob can make things easy as that just requires a wipe with soap or a cleaning spray. Once you’ve done that, give it a dry and it’ll be sparkling. Just make sure not to use any abrasive materials, as these can leave scratches.
Moving onto the oven, some models have Pyrolytic, catalytic, or steam cleaning which use various methods to loosen burnt-on bits, meaning you just need to start with a wipe. From there, it’s time to add some elbow grease into the mix and scrub the walls and door – just make sure everything has cooled down first.
