    Energy Saving Technology

A washing machine’s energy rating will tell you how energy efficient the model is. Ratings range from A – G, and a more efficient appliance means you’ll save more money on your energy bills. Look out for a washing machine with an energy rating of C or above, these will be some of the most energy efficient models on the market.

Energy Saving Technology to look out for

    Sensor controlled wash

Washing machines often have sensors that measure the load. Their job is to make sure the appliance only uses as much water as it actually needs, cutting down on waste and putting some cash back in your pocket.

    Eco Wash

An Eco Wash programme uses lower temperatures during a cycle. It’s great for small loads or refreshing clothes that aren't too dirty. And since it doesn’t need as much energy, it’ll save you some cash.

    Inverter Motor

An Inverter Motor spins the drum with magnets, so there’s less friction during a cycle. That means the washing machine runs much smoother and quieter, while reducing energy waste..

    Quick Wash

If you’ve only worn an outfit once or twice, then a Quick Wash is ideal. This programme can get through a couple of bits in as little as 15 minutes, so there’s no need to waste water and energy on a full cycle.

Whether you opt for an A-rated washing machine or not, there are plenty of features that’ll help you save money on your bills. Here are just a few to look out for.

    Activecare

Think stain removal means high temperatures and never-ending wash cycles? Think again. Hotpoint’s clever ActiveCare works with a bunch of other programmes on your machine to remove more than a whopping 100 stains at just 20 degrees – meaning it's gentle on fabrics too. It mixes water and detergent together before releasing it into the drum and letting it loose on the laundry. So, you’ll always have spotless clothes no matter what.

    ProSense® Technology

ProSense® technology finds the best wash cycle for your load, to give your clothes an unbeatable clean. Special sensors in the drum will recognise the type of fabrics inside and which settings are needed to leave them spotless. It also tailors the length of the cycle, to make sure items aren’t being over washed. This prevents them becoming worn out, and there won’t be any wasted water or energy racking up those bills.
