    Amazing Coffee

    5/5
I have had this coffee maker for about a week now and have absolutely fallen in love with it! It’s so simple to set up and use, The machine has Bluetooth and wireless WiFi which when set up works with an app you can download to your phone to give you access to videos on how to use the machine, clean it and how to order pods. The pods are easy to insert into the coffee machine and with one press of the button perfect beautifully made coffee comes out quicker then you can boil a kettle! Well worth every penny!

    Great machine

    5/5
This has got to be one of the easiest machines to set up you basically take it out the box put water in the container and press go. The hardest part is choosing your coffee. If you enjoy the coffee shop taste and experience I would have to say that this machine gives you that at the touch of a button. The crema on top the coffee is just like you would expect from a freshly ground coffee in the coffee shop and the intense flavour of the coffee is to die for. I would definitely recommend this machine to anybody on the market for a new one or even their first. Read less

    Stylish, compact and versatile

    4/5
I've been a Nespresso convert for a while now; having decent-quality coffee at the touch of a button is a godsend. After inheriting a Nespresso Classic machine a while ago, I was keen to upgrade to a Vertuo as I generally drink long coffees rather than espresso. Whilst the Nespresso Classic is brilliant at espressso, the inconvenience of having to warm the milk or boil a kettle to make a work-sized mug of coffee was a bit of a pain. Enter the Vertuo! Promising the quality and taste of Nespresso but the versatility of multiple cup sizes. The machine itself is significantly larger and heavier than my tiny classic machine, but still fits neatly on the counter-top. The whole top of the machine pivots to load the capsules, so there's a small consideration of the extra height needed under cabinets and the like, but the machine is sufficiently compact and the many colours allow you to co-ordinate with your kitchen. Set-up was a breeze; add water, self-clean, go! The package comes with a selection of capsules too, showcasing the variety of blends and volumes (from espresso (40ml) to alto (440ml travel mug)), so you can start enjoying great coffee straight away. The range of capsules available is pretty close to that of Nespresso Classic capsules, with the exception of 3rd-party offerings. Capsules are slightly more expensive, but contain more coffee, so that's fair enough! The machine is relatively quiet in operation, but the spinning of the capsule (to aid extraction and generate a thick crema) does make it slightly noisier than some other capsule machines I've used. That said, it' s not unbearable and doesn't last long. The capsule is automatically ejected when opening the machine so cleaning up is super-easy. For convenience, this machine is perfect, although if I was nit-picking I'd say the water tank could be a little larger; the extra volume of water used for the larger coffees means you'll be filling the tank quite frequently. Overall, I'm really pleased with the Vertuo, but the benefits over Nespresso classic are limited. The added versatility of multiple cup sizes is a boon, but to me it comes at a cost of a larger machine and fewer 3rd party capsules. I also find the Centrifusion extraction creates slightly less tasty coffee (but much more crema). If you're considering a first Nespresso machine, consider the Vertuo range. If you're looking to replace a Nespresso Classic machine, the decision is less clear.

    Perfect Barista Coffee

    5/5
I love coffee. I have been searching for a machine capable of making true barista grade coffee for years and am delighted to say I have finally found one in the Nespresso Vertuo by Magimix. I have found the machine very easy to set up and use, it's very intuitive. The packaging was recycle bin friendly and there is an easy to understand set of instructions. Pairing up with my smartphone with Bluetooth was easy and hassle free. I have found the selection of coffees I have tried so far to be varied and excellent with many more still to try, and I love the way Nespresso take the used capsules back for recycling. Excellent idea. The way the capsules automatically pop out and into the built in storage box is great, I can then just empty it straight into the provided recycling bag which is picked up when you get a delivery of coffee. The different sizes of serving is great and I have found myself enjoying these different sizes at varying times of day depending on how I feel, all hassle free and automatic. Overall, a great machine with a fantastic selection of coffee styles and sizes readily available. Look forward to continuing my coffee journey!

    Professional style coffee at home

    4/5
The Nespresso Vertuo has a very modern design and perfectly matches my kitchen colour scheme and appliances. The machine came with two booklets and additional guidance with videos online. I watched the one for setting up my machine and cleaning it for first use. There is also an app that comes with the machine which monitors the water level and overall functioning status, although you do need to be connected to your Wifi and be in 10m of the machine. The app however does let you order additional pods and arrange for used pods to be recycled as there is a bag in the original packaging to store used pods. There is a selection box of capsules that come with the machine, meaning you can taste a selection of coffees before committing to certain types of coffee in your next order. This has helped me a lot as a first time owner of a machine of any type. Although I would recommend to those who are interested in upgrading or converting to coffee machine life, I do feel that the lack of third party alternatives and higher price point for the official pods compared to other Nespresso ranges means it is slightly less competitive than other machines out there.

Big cups of coffee without too much fuss

    4/5
Nespresso Vertuo comes in three forms when it comes to all of the machines, they have the same features so you are just paying for style. One-touch operation makes an easy coffee machine to use. Nespresso provides a good array of coffee types, plenty of coffee choices in my opinion, including flavoured ones, espresso, double espresso, grand lungo, mug and alto (large mug) options. There’s a barcode on each capsule which tells the machine how to prepare the coffee and how much liquid to dispense. Additionally, you can manually stop the flow of coffee when you’re done, or you can top up with extra water. The coffee flavour will depend on the capsules that you use. However, there is a bitter after taste that you don't get comparing to a coffee shop espresso machine this could be due to more water coming thru the capsule to make a longer coffee. Nespresso Vertuo is easy to maintain, thanks to the centrifugal brewing system you don’t get any drips once you’ve removed your mug of coffee, so the pods come out relatively dry. You’ll need to clean the drip tray from time to time, although the centrifugal. You can connect to the coffee machine via an app, first set up could be tricky and vary from a device to another. Throughout the app, you can update the firmware on the coffee machine, but there’s little you can do once it’s online. Just don't spend time looking for the "make my d.. coffee while I'm not in the room" button because it's not there. Nespresso, try to improve their sustainability image, now you can request a free recycling bag by picking one up in a Boutique, order online, or call them. All capsules are completely recyclable for free via stores or organised collection points. Just place your used capsules in the Nespresso recycling bag and when your bag is filled to the line seal it securely, then select the most suitable option to return your pods to Nespresso for recycling. Is up to the consumer to decide whether can rely on than Nestle will do the right thing when comes to capsules recycling. If you want half-decent coffee in a hurry at home, and with precious little mess, this is as good as it gets. The coffee is consistently strong and drinkable, and the range of capsules provide lots of different options and flavours, which is great for when you fancy a change. Although I would have liked to have seen some sort of milk frother on the machine - it feels like a machine that would benefit from this add-on.
