    Terrible hob

    1/5
This cooker is a huge let down, the hob in particular. It is impossible to maintain a rolling boil, simmer or an even cook with it - the hob comes on, brings the contents of the pan to a boil, then turns off, then back on again, and so on. It means that water/contents boils, then settles, boils, then settles, etc. All turning the dial down does is make this happen less frequently. I have boiled over pans and burned the contents numerous times and I am not inept in the kitchen! The multizone function is also over sensitive and often does not recognise that it has a pan on it. I hate using this hob! We had a much cheaper induction hob/cooker before and it was much better and easier to control. I raised my issues with Smeg and, in fairness to them, they were quick, polite and sent an engineer round quickly. However, following that, in their opinion the hob was working as expected and so they are not interested in doing anything further. We are stuck with this awful cooker. They seem to recognise their is an issue though as their solution (according to their website) is to buy a set of cast iron pots/pans, at great expense, as they work better than other induction approved ones. Well I'm sure they do, but that should not be needed and our current pots/pans worked fine on the old hob. I strongly regret buying this cooker and will not be buying anything from Smeg again. I expected much better from this supposedly premium brand. I suggest any potential buyers proceed with caution and definitely try-before-you-buy.

    Disappointed

    2/5
Not very impressed so far with the oven. The instruction manual is really vague and I have absolutely no idea how to use it to it's full potential. I was not asked about the fuse I had and there are 2 differing opinions of which fuse is required. There is a 'rope' type thing going round the inside the cooker door which looks like it will last a few weeks only. The cooker appeared to lose power during a long cooking time on Christmas day, my sister had the same problem with the same oven. Very disappointed

    Quality a concern

    3/5
I like the look of the cooker and everything now working well. Only three stars because it was faulty when delivered with only two of the five induction zones working. SMEG did get someone out quickly to rectify but clearly the cooker isn't tested at the factory and wasn't properly assembled.

    Great value cooker

Very impressed so far bought to replace a Kenwood cooker which had failed after only seven years and had been repaired a number of times. First time using an induction hob, much better and controllable than previous ceramic version.

Great performance oven, small frustrating niggles

    4/5
Four stars as the oven is great but the timer annoyingly doesn’t illuminate (so can’t always see it). This frustrates me more than it should! Also the cooling fan stays on for longer than I think is necessary after the ovens been switched off so a bit noisy for quite a while after cooking. Oven performance itself is great and I love the induction hob.

Seems to scratch and pick up marks very easily.

    Great oven (with patience)

    4/5
I’m a first time range owner and it took me a bit of time to understand the the dials. Now I understand the dials and is working great. The little oven is great for cooking something small. Main facility takes a bit of time to heat up overall a great oven
