Excellent build quality. Most range cookers are built to a standard of fit, finish and ergonomics that is nowhere near that of normal ovens and hobs, which is ironic given the premium positioning and prices . Not so with Smeg; this range cooker has exactly the same high quality of door hinges, closures and tactile parts you’d find on modern ovens, with the range aesthetic and practicality.

Fantastic cooker, We had a similar smeg range for fourteen years in our old house which we sadly had to leave behind when we sold. We have been renovating so been without a proper oven for quite a while but now the kitchen is almost done we didn't hesitate in buying another Smeg dual fuel range. Absolutely love the Portofino. It is easy to use and looks lovely, really lovely quality. It does need an extra shelf in our opinion as we bake a lot but we easily sourced a genuine smeg shelf as a spare part online.

We have replaced a smeg range with the Portofino and i am disappointed… It feels like a showy pumped up version of our old one and not as well made .. The hob knobs feel tacky and plastic ,when you light a gas ring you need to stand back by 1/2 a metre as the flame is huge ..when you need a low heat to simmer ,the lowest setting is still too high . The oven is ok (having only used it 3 times ) it is alot smaller inside as the inner walls are very thick …and it stands off the back wall way too much due to the gas pipe placing !! I was so excited to have another amazing smeg range oven but this one is not the same calibre .

Well made but a second wire shelf should be included from Smeg.

Great range cooker, lots of functions and oven quick to heat. Cooks so much more evenly than my old range cooker. Love the extra capacity of one large oven vs one and a half layout in most 90cm range cookers. Paper copy manual is useless for program instructions but online version is much more comprehensive. Item arrived missing wok ring and with a damaged pan support but AO arranged replacements promptly.

Pro's The oven warms up very quickly to the required temperature. Oven light comes on automatically when opening the door. Hobs is easy to use Currently comes with a 5 year guarantee when you register through the SMEG website. Con's: Timer ringer is pittyfull, you have to be actually in the kitchen to hear it activating. Issued manual does not cover enough detail when using the oven. The download pdf manual from the SMEG website does. Rotisory is over complicated and will probably never get used.

The product I love - easy to clean, heats up quickly. The instructions are hopeless - I managed to turn the oven on and then couldn't turn it off again and went through the instructions umpteen times - ended up watching a youtube video. Once you know how it is really simple - just the instruction booklet is hopeless.
