    AG2002 - Hotpoint SI4854PIX Electric Single Oven

    5/5
The Hotpoint Electric Single Oven is a stylish looking appliance with a number of great features. The touch screen menu with temperature and time dial gives the oven a slick appearance, so it looks flush with the units. At first, the touch screen menu can appear complicated as the oven has a number of different features, but once you get used to it, it is a simple to use. The oven comes with a number of grills and baking trays, as well as a rotisserie spit, which saves on having to buy these separately. One of the great features is that the oven has a self-cleaning mode - this heats the oven up to a high temperature to remove grease and dirt - what a bonus! Another cool feature is that the light inside the oven is on a sensor and turns on when the door is open and off when it is shut. The oven is also not very noisy. Even though the appliance is a single oven, it is spacious and has plenty of room to cook multiple dishes. Overall, it is a spacious, stylish looking oven, with some great features.

Again: Grilling problems with a Hotpoint oven

    3/5
A nice oven spoiled by problems using the grill. At least this model comes with a grill pan, whereas the last Hotpoint I used didn't. (not sure how you are supposed to grill food without?) The problems is, the grill pan is such a loose fit in the slots at the side of the oven and has no stops, so when you draw it out to check the food, it just slides/drops out onto the oven door, or your feet! There is also no handle(s) supplied for holding the grill pan. Quite dangerous in my opinion. It's a pity because the oven is otherwise of good quality (although a bit 'technical' to use) and has some really good features.

    Hotpoint Review

    5/5
This Hotpoint oven is fantastic with many great features. It has an easy to use control panel which is touch screen. It gives you the option of setting a timer and the oven will make a sound when the food is ready. It has the preheating function again making a sound when the oven is ready for the food to go in, this I find particularly handy. The oven came with a turnspit which looks fanastic, I haven't seen this with an oven before. It also has a self cleaning function called the 'pyro cycle' which heats the oven up to a high temperature to remove grease and dirt!! It has a child safety function and the door can be locked for safety. The oven is really quiet and has plenty of space for numerous dishes. I can't find a fault with it. Overall a fantastic oven and I would highly recommend.

    Possibly the world's worst oven

    1/5
I've been on this earth for 42 years and using ovens with a degree of success for 30. This is without doubt the worst oven I've had the misfortune to use and I spent four years in rented student accommodation. Fan or otherwise it heats unevenly front to back and top to bottom so there's always something burned and another thing uncooked. It didn't come with enough shelves, even the instructions suggest you should only use one shelf at a time. The settings are over-engineered and in just three months we've had to have an engineer out due to the oven failing on a software fault that needed a reset that could have been done over the phone. It's an absolute lemon.

    Self clean

    4/5
Cooks evenly and has alot of useful settings ,only down fall is the self clean functions does not work. Cooked a goose on Christmas Day and got abit messy following day used the self clean function oven locked for 2 hours and was in the same state I started off with. Wasted 2 hours of electricity for nothing.

    A quiet and efficient oven

    5/5
The old oven I inherited from the previous owners had had it's day so I decided to replace it. Having completed a bit of research a Pyrolytic oven was the only way to go and I'm very glad I did. It's simple to operate, very quiet, it heats very quickly, cooks as well as it says it does. An excellent product and one I'd recommend to anyone.

    Fantastic oven

    5/5
Really happy with this oven. I was worried it would be a little complicated to use but it isnt at all. Looks really smart and cooks much more evenly than my previous Electrolux and it seems massive inside, loads of room. Only cons are that theres only one shelf and to use the timer the oven needs to be on. Havent used the cleaning function yet but looking forwarded to it hoping it will make life a little easier.
