A good washing machine
4/5
I've had this machine for about a week, and aside from a couple of small ergonomic niggles (hence why only 4 stars), I am very happy with it.
Positives:
It is very, very quiet.
Washes well, better than my last machine.
Good spin performance, better than my old 1400 spin machine.
Door is easy to open and close, you don't need to wrestle with the handle
You can open the door as soon as the programme finishes, no need to wait a few minutes.
Drain is easy to access to clean the pump filter.
A shallow machine, it will fit just about anywhere.
Nice clear display.
Negatives
The control knob has a small dark (green? I'm colour-blind) spot to show you where it is pointing. I can't see it very well, so I had to put a small piece of white tape over it. Someone with normal vision may not have this problem.
The soap drawer does not come out very far, if you have the machine tucked right under a worktop you will struggle with this. I only use detergent tabs so this is no issue for me. Also the soap drawer is quite narrow.
My old machine turned the drum a few times when the programme was over, to un-crease the washing. This machine does not, it stays glued to the drum.
Just a couple of other points:
The drum is shallow but seems to have a good capacity, I can get more in than my old 6Kg machine could handle so it's probably a larger diameter. The delay timer is set to when you want it to end, not start, and this is not really well documented. Finally, the main cotton programme is 3.5 hours at 40 degrees but it does wash very well.
Overall, I am very pleased with it, for a budget machine I think it is excellent and is exactly what I needed. I only drop one star because of the control knob indicator colour and soap drawer depth.
