Easily broken machine and mud-selling of extended warranty

    1/5
Bought this washing machine with 5 year warranty. After 2.5y it broke because their “twins do” leaks internally and it was beyond repair. They replaced it like for like but refused to transfer the remaining 2.5y warranty to the replacing machine. So if you buy with a 10y warranty which they give out as promotion sometimes, if it breaks after 1y (which seems to be at risk for twins do models) you will only have 2y warranty instead of 9y. It is not right. Firstly for such an expansive machine it should not break beyond repair after a short period of time. Secondly they refuse to transfer the original extended warranty is miss-selling of the product. ??DO NOT BUY any Miele appliance. I have been a big buyers of all their very expansive detergents and conditioners but no more! Beware of the risk of having the corrosive detergents leaking internally into the machine AND they won’t honour their extended warranty after first replacement.

With Miele you will be disappointed!

    1/5
Disappointment. Just one word to both sum up the Brand New Miele washing machine we had been quite excited to own. But it also sums up the appalling Customer Service we received both before a repair was undertaken and then after it too failed. To start all was well, but then just on a month in the thing started to become noisy in operation as well as 'clanging' like an old freight train during some parts of the wash cycle. Thinking it was just us, getting use to this machine we persevered but when it became no better I booked a Service Call. That in it's self was not too bad until they hit you with the warning ... ''if no fault is found you will be subject to paying an £80+ service charge. Do you wish to proceed''! With that nugget to mind, a young engineer arrived and promptly dismissed my own thoughts on what was wrong, as well as the video evidence I had recorded of the machine emitting the dreadful noises and proceeded to test the machine. Starting off with it totally empty and loo and behold... nothing! I then suggested sticking a load inside to which he then agreed to but 'just a couple of towels' and again.... no clanging! So next I suggested (not argued ... as I should have) that the two towels did not constitute any sort of real world load to which he finally agreed and allowed me to add... one more small towel! And you guessed it... no issue (he was only letting it run part way through a wash cycle) so as he was packing up I left it running a full [short] 60 degree wash and just as he was about to make a run for it.... CLANG!!! As soon as it did this his dismissive rhetoric changed and he agreed there was an issue and to cap it, he concurred it was the one I had initially suggested upon his arrival and which he had dismissed out of hand. And so off he went to order the parts to be fitted on another date and a few weeks later he was back to install new parts. However during this 'repair' he had to damage some of the fixings which he left damaged as ''an indication to other repair persons that this machine had already had a repair''... I ask you. Thinking that was it, we went back to using it until three weeks later .... CLANG! It was back, his repair had failed and so I contacted Miele. Email at first [nothing], then social media [Twitter and Instagram] and still nothing! So I tried to call them and you've guessed it ... they are still blaming the pandemic for not answering the phone. But I persevered and on the third attempt I got through after a twenty minute wait only be diverted to a different department as the call handler could not deal with the matter herself and I then had the pleasure of remaining on hold for another hour and a half! So, eventually this call was answered, the young lady listened to my report and concerns and then promptly offered me a further date for an engineers visit! Now, as we had wasted two days and many hours with a failed repair already I declined this third visit and instead requested a call back from a manager or at the very least someone with a little common sense and the authority to actually do something to rectify this matter to which she agreed before ending the call and sad to say I am still waiting for a call back! Great Customer Service I'm sure you'd agree? So, would I recommend this (as advertised) Great Technologically Advanced Washing Machine that has been tested to the equivalent of twenty years use - so you'll have peace of mind your machine will last past that sort of time scale.... NO. For as I pointed out to the Miele representative with whom I eventually got to speak with, ours barely made it past twenty days of use let alone one of those twenty or so years! I truly hope if you choses to buy one of these that yours lasts a lot longer than the one we have and that you never have the need to try to contact Miele, be it by phone, email or social media as on all fronts they fail miserably. But feel free not to take my word for it, dive in and find out for yourself... it's a slippery one-way downwards slope to disappointment

    Don’t choose Twindos

Twindos system is an unnecessary nightmare - I regret choosing it. My advice is to pay less and keep it simple.

First look at Miele W1 WSG663 Wifi

    2/5
So far so good, the machine is durable and reliable. BUT: twindos system not tested yet. It looks a sensible step forward, however, the plastic containers (they call it ultraphase) should be refillabe and reusable as it is still lots of plastic generated. WiFi function and app are working well and possibly would save you a minute or two if you are in a rush but most useful information it give the remaining time left for washing. Conclusion: good product and is worth the price but shocking that big companies still do not care about environment and only care about hooking you up on their consumable products (plastic disposable cartridges and caps).

Two week wait for repair technician for brand new machine?

    2/5
Received washing machine 5 days ago - beautiful appliance, very quiet but complicated set up of twin dos system. Does not work properly, even after having spent half an hour with MIELE customer service on the phone unable to set it up so it works and recognises the second detergent. Not surprisingly washing results with twin dos system terrible. Very disappointing - had to book service technician for brand new machine who will come in 2 weeks to repair - how utterly disappointing. Seems to be a software issue, but while trying to fix it, it quickly becomes apparent that the small display with confusing messages is poorly designed and adds to the frustration. If it did work properly, the machine would be very good, - but the disappointment with twin dos, software issues, the poorly designed display and the hopeless customer service have put me off Miele.

With a bit of reading through the manual we got up and running fairly easily, although the app doesn't offer many features and is very slow.
