This is a basic cooker hood at a good price. It has the rear exhaust I needed to replace an old hood (so I did not have to make another hole in the wall). It does not come with any fixings or exhaust pipe; it does come with a typical paper filter. I hope the LED bulbs last longer than the old filament ones (which would frequently fail after only a few days of use!) It works well, is not as noisy as I feared and it shifts a useful amount of air. It can be fitted in several different ways, with a top or rear exhaust, or re-circulate (but you'll need to buy the separate carbon grease filter for that. AO - you really ought to stock this so it can be bought as part of the initial hood purchase). Based on previous experience, change the filters regularly, otherwise the whole thing will get covered in muck! Also, as Zanussi say: turn the fan on low at the start of cooking and it will reduce the need for using it at the (noisier) high speed. Despite some of my comments above, the hood does what I needed, at a sensible price, so all in all, I'm happy with it.

Its fine. Moves air well which the old one did not. Also good light and little chance of bashing your head, a problem with the old one.

It doesn't come with a plug just the two wires so I'm a bit confused with how to install it.

The finish on the cooker hood was brushed steel and gave the product a really modern look. The instructions were clear and the item was easy to fit. The delivery was quick and hassle free. The driver even called when he was 2o mons away to warn us he 3as on his way which was great. This hood runs smoothly and does a fantastic job of clearing smells. It is also much quieter than my.old model which is great. Fab price too. Would recommend.

There are many cooker hoods out there at a very wide range of prices, but if you are looking for something basic, that works, and looks fine, this will do the job. It is hardly the most stylish visor hood around, though it also comes in white and stainless steel, but it has a powerful fan, is very easy to install, and should last. In my case, I don't have access to an outside vent, so I need something that recycles. This unit does both by sliding across a very simple leaver inside. The output vent for the recycle setting is on the top, but at the front, so it can go under a unit as long as it is protruding. The light and the three-stage fan switch use sliding switches. They have a nice, positive feel. To replace the filter (which like all hoods, should be done regularly) one only needs to unlatch two clips and the bottom of the unit drops down. This also gives access to the lights - LEDs came fitted as standard. The unit is a light construction, which is no bad thing. I was able to install it on my own. The unit is quite noisy, especially at position three, but this has been true of my previous visor hoods too. Overall, a good product. I am pleased.

I went for Zanussi expecting a quality product but felt let down slightly for the following reasons:- 1/. The usual bag of fixings have been removed (by Zanussi) and replaced with a slip of paper that states:- Due to the variety of special wall fixings available and the differing materials used in the construction industry , we no longer supply rawlplugs and mounting screws as may have been stated in the User and Installation Guide, supplied with this product. Not a major problem in itself as any competent DIYer will have suitable fixings but the 'bag of bits' also has the two wall brackets that makes a back wall hanging option more secure on plasterboard and 3 attempts to get these via AO / AEG proved fruitless! 2/. There is no charcoal filter included. Again, not a major problem as you can purchase something suitable for about £10 online. Why not include this though? 3/. Instruction diagrams are confusing (well they were to me but I am getting old!) but it is just common sense / basic DIY to install really. With above said, the unit is now installed and looks / works fine. Nice bright lights and good extraction via an external vent pipe. A fair product let down with a little 'Penny Pinching' by Zanussi. For info, the vent pipe diameter is 10cm via the included adapter. There is conflicting information given on the pipe diameter depending on were you look.
