    AEG IKB64401FB 59cm Induction Hob - Black

    £299

    Key Features

    Product Overview

Take your meals to the next level with this electric hob from AEG. Its 4 induction zones use electromagnets to heat your pans, rather than the hob’s surface – so you can cook efficiently at mealtimes. The pan detection feature makes it safe to use too, as it only starts heating when cookware is placed on top. You can start cooking right away with the PowerBoost function, which heats zones to their highest temperature before dropping the heat to your chosen level. It can even connect to a compatible cooker hood with the Hob2Hood feature, which will begin extracting automatically.

    Features we love

Cooking on the hob made even safer

Preparing dishes on the hob couldn’t get any faster, safer or more efficient, thanks to induction technology. Unlike your gas or ceramic hob, induction ones use electromagnets beneath the surface to recognise the size and shape of your induction pans. This tells it exactly where it needs to send heat to, and it’ll only start to warm up when your pot is on top, keeping you safe in the kitchen.

    Create the perfect cooking area

By connecting this hood to a compatible hob, AEG’s Hob2Hood feature offers a hands-free way of managing your cooking environment. When you turn your hob on, it communicates with the hood via infrared, so the lights will come on too. It’ll even recognise when your kitchen is getting smokier and will boost the power to control it. This means that you’ll never find yourself fumbling with the controls.

    Easily control the cooking

Thanks to AEG’s innovative Direktouch controls, selecting the perfect settings has never been simpler. Whether you’re sliding your way to maximum power, or quickly tapping it back down to a lower level, you’ll always get a speedy response. And, because they’re effortless to use, you’ll find the temperature easy to adjust whilst you’re cooking.

    Start cooking straightaway

AEG’s slim installation hobs add a touch of style to any kitchen. If you’re a fan of the minimalist aesthetic, these models will never be thicker than 28mm, making them the slimmest on the market. Thanks to their special design, they’ll just click straight into your worktop too. There won’t even be any debris to clean up after it’s been fitted, so you can crack right on with the cooking.

    Pause your cooking

If the doorbell sounds when you’re preparing dinner, AEG’s Stop&Go feature lets you put the cooking on hold and pick it back up later. Just select the function on the control panel and it’ll switch down to a low simmer. Then, when you’ve said your goodbyes, touch it again to carry on exactly where you left it. So, when you return to the kitchen, you’ll never find overflowing pans again.

    Tips for measuring up

When measuring for an induction hob, the depth and height are usually standard, so you should focus on measuring the width – it’ll be between 60 and 90cm. Also, you need to make sure no cupboards will hang over the hob, and that there’s at least 65cm between the hob and your cooker hood.

    Smashing induction hob

    5/5
Great hob, easily installed, smart looking, simple to use and super fast cooking.

Good, but the hotplates need to be more visible.

    4/5
Good. My only comment about the hob is that it's harder to see the circles denoting the hotplates than it was on my last induction hob. They are very feint and, with the cooker light on, the refection doesn't help. It's therefore easy to find that the pans are only half on the hotplates.

    Good product

    5/5
    Very good product very happy

Easy to use with nice features

    5/5
The hob is intuitive to use and has a nice slider to control the level of heat. It auto detects when pans and other items are placed on the plates, and indicates when surfaces may be hot. The heating zones are a good range of sizes. There is also a handy timer.

    Great value for money

    5/5
A bargain at full price, which is what I had to pay, but an absolute steal for £299. I bought this on Which’s recommendation two months ago. It’s been great. My other half loves it. The 90s water boiling feature is clutch.

    Great Kitchen update

    5/5
Great update to the kitchen, checked the Which review and this was very high up and very happy with the product
