Trade-In Devices
Don’t let your old devices go to waste, use our third-party trade-in service. With MTR Trade-in, they’ll take your old device and give you the best price based on its condition when you buy a new one at AO. You’ll even get paid the same day it reaches MTR. Sounds good, right?
Trade-in is simple. Here is how it all works
Trade-in can only be used by individual customers and not businesses. You’ll be offered Trade-in on the products that are available for the promotion.
This is a third-party service and will work through MTR’s portal. Find out how much your device is worth. You’ll answer some questions on the condition of your device before being offered a price.
Happy with the price? Great. MTR can send you a Trade-in pack to send off your old device in, or you can print off a label and package it yourself.
Once the device reaches MTR, they’ll review it and then put the money into your bank account.

- How do I get my device to MTR?
When you get a quote, you can ask for a Trade-in pack which will include a confirmation letter, postage tips leaflet, jiffy bag and returns label to send off your device. We’ll send this out to you on the same day as requested. You can also package your device yourself and print off your own returns label.
- When will I receive my money?
As long as the condition is as expected, a payment will be made to your bank account on the same day your device reaches MTR.
- Does my old device need to be working?
Not at all. MTR accept both working and faulty devices. Just make sure you describe it accurately on their portal.
- What would make my device faulty?
Average wear and tear is fine, but your device will be seen as faulty if it has any of the following issues:
- Screen burn
- It’s not fully functional
- Software or hardware faults
- Screen/LCD damage
- Liquid damage
- Crack in casing or camera lens.
- What happens if my device isn’t as I described when it reaches MTR?
If MTR review your device and decide it’s faulty when you have said it’s working, it’ll be re-evaluated and you’ll be given a new price quote in an email. You can then accept this new price or reject it. If you reject it, your device will be returned free of charge.

MTR is a trade-in service that can only be used by individual customers and not businesses.
Once an individual customer starts their journey for MTR-Trade-in, the relationship is between them and MTR. AO is not involved at this stage.
