I have always had traditional Italian pump machines before which make beautiful espressos and cappuccinos. This machine is complicated and clunky (I will get used to it eventually, I suppose). I haven't yet found the right mix of strength and quantity for a good espresso and I really do not like the milk froth which is far too dense for a good cappuccino. I bought it on the Which recommendation. Wish I hadn't.

The Avanza makes good coffee quickly, however, it does have two irritations: (1) the milk frother does not heat the milk enough (we add some microwave heated milk before topping up from the frother) and (2) the machine incorrectly flags the waste water/used coffee tray as needing emptying when it's not necessary. In spite of irritations we will keep likely the machine as it is so much cleaner and easier than manual machines.

I like the product but wished the milk was thicker and hotter. It’s simple to use which is great, but the milk side of it lets it down I feel.

After about a week of using this machine all is good, the only down side are the instructions, which could be better

Really compact and simple. Looks great and easy to use. Only negative is it uses a lot of water cleaning.

It’s a cracking machine and makes great coffee. Not as quiet as reviews I read but the only noisy bit is the grinding of the beans. The rest isn’t too bad. The cup warmer but like most machines I’ve come across is pretty useless and the hose which feeds the milk in isn’t so easy to clean but overall a good machine and worth the money.

Great coffee machine, very easy to use with lots of great features. The only slight negatives, coffee could be hotter as often needs microwaving but this seem to be a common issue with this type of machine and, the milk dispenser creates too much foam, if you’re not careful you will have a coffee with nothing but head. I still highly recommend this machine tho and the service from AO has been great as always.

The coffee machine produces consistent quality coffee and the functions are mostly at the touch of a button and quite convenient. Automatic cleaning ensures coffee flavour is good and milk pipe cleaning is easy. My only gripe is that coffee beans don't feed in very well into the grinder, so the "refill beans" alert occurs too often. The instruction manual is confusing at first and I wasted time getting the setup right.
