Swings and Roundabouts
3/5
Bought to replace a noisy and rather basic Gaggia grinder. Perceived quality is good and it is reasonably quiet - only problem is the coffee grinding! If you drink espresso or use Moka Express pots as we do, the finest setting is simply not fine enough. On our old Gaggia grinder, we used no 2 or 3 of 16 settings. The Smeg has a rather absurd 30 settings, but the finest is still ‘grains’ rather than ‘powder’. It won’t wake the kids, but then again neither will the coffee be the perfect start to your day.
