It's finished in a gloss black and stainless steel finish with white led lights that illuminate depending on what feature is selected. I have used this toaster on numerous occasions now and found it to be functional and easy to use. It has some great features such as defrost and reheat mode which is perfect for busy families. I also love that although it is a 4 slice toaster, it only has 2 slots. Because these slots are very large, they can fit in odd shaped slices of bread and it actually toasts the whole piece, not like some toasters! I like how sturdy this product is which I find quite reassuring and adds to the notion that this product is durable and of good quality. The toasters 6 different browning levels make it easy for me to make perfect toast for each family member. The only negative really (but it doesn't particularly bother me) is that the item is very large and may not be suitable for small kitchens. I also feel that additional items such as the sandwich rack should be included in the price. Finally, people may find it difficult to get small pieces of bread out of this toaster because the slots are so deep. However, I love this item and it looks amazing in my kitchen!

I bought one when they first came out unfortunately it just came out of its warranty when the heating element packed up so can only toast one side at a time then turn bread round. Searched for a element to replace it but can find for other makes but no spares for smeg. I still use it as I have the matching kettle and because it cost so much I can't bare to throw it away.

Really like the size of the unit (it is by far the biggest toaster I’ve ever owned) and the extra wide slots which accommodate everything from chunky bread to crumpets etc. The toaster looks great, has anti slip feet which keep it nicely hunkered down, and cooks bread evenly on both sides – even when I’m using only one slot and not the other. Features are a defrost mode, bagel mode and 6 stages of browning. Very happy, would highly recommend it!

This is a very stylish piece of kitchen equipment and very solidly built. I bought it to match my red Smeg fridge/freezer. I am delighted with it. The only downside is that is very expensive.
