Good machine but will cost you a fortune in new paddles

    2/5
Initially I thought this was a great machine. Fantastic size and features. Quiet and efficient washing. However…. We are now on around the 4th set of plastic paddles for the drum as they keep snapping off. They are not strong enough to cope with a large load and should be metal. Frustrating as expensive and a hassle to replace.

Paddles came loose and started ripping clothes. Purchased August 2021, less than 2 years old. New washing machine to buy!! Don't bother!

Initially great. Doesn’t last two minutes

Initially great however 7 months in and the handle has broken off the filter clean part. I am now stuck with an error code as it won’t drain and Hoover customer service haven’t answered phone twice in half an hour. Really disappointing.

    Worse Machine on the Market

    1/5
I had the machine for a few weeks and there was this bad noise when it spun. Had the guy out to fix and it was a coin! Fair enough not covered on warranty so had to pay call out charge. Then one of the paddles fell off and we were told it was our fault they sent us new paddle and I fitted it myself. The machine bangs like a tin can. To out of balance sensors are rubbish. Hoovers customer service does need a lot of attention. Do not by a hoover. They take your money and hang you out to dry! I would buy a cheap machine in the future. At least you know what you are getting and won’t be disappointed

    Hoover H-Wash 500 - Big capacity-Big Performance

    4/5
Five stars would have been awarded for this excellent machine but for one very small point. If you have a full load, that is 14kg, you might find that the spin cycle doesn't dry the clothes as expected. The spinning cycle, along with all other washing machines, is by centrifugal force - the water being thrown out at high speed from the centre out. It is my experience that some dense items such as a sweat shirt come out moderately dry if they are in the centre of the rest of the washing. But this is a very minor point and it only applies to a full load and to certain clothes. Otherwise a very good machine indeed. It is quiet while washing and it certainly washes the clothes thoroughly. The 14kg washing cycles are very long but efficient. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but in my mind it is an attractive machine if you could ever categorise a washing machine by looks ! The crowning glory however is the capacity. The 14kg capacity is so useful, especially when you have large items such as curtains, bed linen and furniture covers. My previous machine would require several loads to match one load in this machine. Overall verdict, an attractive, high capacity and efficient washing machine that's well worth buying.

    Amazing, huge machine - recommended

    5/5
After having had my old Bosch washing machine for 14 years, I was reluctant to move to a different brand. However, with 2 small children and a super king duvet, I really needed something with a huge drum for all of those ‘accidents’ that the kids seem to have on my bed. My old Bosch wouldn’t take the duvet and I couldn’t handle one more late night duvet wash in the bath, so I took a chance on this one, and am I glad I did! The drum is HUGE. There are so many programs with a wide variety of wash times. Need a quick wash? 14 minutes. Lightly soiled mixed load? 59 minutes. Want to save the environment by using less water? Well, I’ve not used that one yet but it’s several hours. There’s also a steam feature that reduces the need for ironing. I figure that’ll work best with tumble dried items rather than line dried, but I could be wrong. The machine is really quiet. I never had a problem with the noise the old one made, but this is noticeably quieter. I’m quite taken by it’s start up and end ditty too. It’s like it’s really proud of itself for finishing a load. The Wi-Fi connectivity, I thought, was going to be a bit of a gimmick BUT, having got comfy on the sofa whilst the husband was putting a load on and asking which program (and what each symbol meant), I was able to get him to pop it onto Wi-Fi mode and do it myself, from my phone, without having to get up. Yes, it’s the height of laziness, but it felt good. It also means that if I want a cycle to finish as I’m getting home but I’m not sure what time that’ll be, I can set it off from anywhere at the right time. It also tells me on the phone when the machine is finished, and as I have an Apple Watch, it also tells me on my wrist, meaning that I never forget that there’s a load just sitting in the machine gathering wrinkles. It is larger than my old machine, both wider and deeper, so there’s been a little rearranging of our kitchen, but it’s so great that I’m willing to put up with that until we get the kitchen redone. Just one thing to bear in mind - ALL of the plastic bits that hold the transportation screws MUST be removed, and they don’t always come out easily. If left in, the machine squeaks. Given the price, this machine is absolutely amazing. I’m not expecting it to last as long as my old Bosch, but then I wasn’t expecting to get 14 years out of that. I’d definitely recommend the Hoover (although I appreciate, I’ve only had it for a week).

    Nice looking machine

The washing machine has a very big drum so fits a lot of clothes in but only four programs can be used with the max 14kg.i found the powder dispensing drawer flimsy and the trim on the door.clothes came out nice and clean.machine is larger then a regular size so does stick out a bit.it is not flush with my units.when the door is open if you pull out the powder dispenser it does knock into the door, this could have been designed a bit better to avoid this happening.

Lovely except the door glass cracked and poor service to get it replaced.

    3/5
Lovely big machine that intelligently reduces the wash time if appropriate on the boil wash. I had to drop 2 stars: 1 because of the fault and another because of the poor service Hoover provides-. The door glass cracked (& after only 3 months)! All I use it for is boil washing double duvets (that I use in my bunny sanctuary) so it wasn't exactly stressed by anything sharp or heavy. It took 10 days for a engineer to be available. That was bad enough but then when he came, he didn't have the right door as they are not allowed to order what they need before visiting! It was a cracked door! Did someone really think I might not need a new one? I was told (this was Thursday) it would be there next day, or Saturday at the latest. It's now Saturday night. The engineer (who was very nice- not his fault) said I could wait for him to become available again to fit it (in about a week, he thought) or order it to be delivered. It needs a special screwdriver that I don't have to fit it so basically I'm having to wait 2 weeks for it to be fixed and then have to pay someone to fix it whenever the part arrives! Terrible service.
