    DIY: Wooden Bead Light Pull

Jazz up your light pull with this fun DIY!

It’s all the in the detail when it comes to having a lovely home, so don’t neglect the little things. Light switches, plug sockets and door handles can be easily changed for something more attractive. Here is a simple project to give your bathroom light pull a fun update.

    What you'll need...

    • Wooden beads of various size and shape
    • Acrylic paints
    • Small paintbrushes
    • Blu-tac
    • Masking or washi tape
    • Leather string

It makes it easier to paint the beads by sticking them on a ball of blu-tac to stop them rolling around. Do different designs on each one. Use masking or washi tape to mask off areas, such as the ones where I have painted half the bead and left the other half bare.

Leave the paint to dry. Once dry do another coat to get a nice finish.

Work out the order you want to have the beads in. A mix of shape, size and colour looks best.

Then simply thread them on to your length of leather string and tie a knot at the bottom, then attach it securely onto your existing light pull string near the top.

The wooden beads are so cheap to buy that you can always update when you like if you fancy a colour change or if they get grubby. This idea could also be adapted for blinds too.
