My fridge freezer is unstable

There are a number of things that could cause your fridge freezer to be unstable. The appliance’s feet might not be set up properly, or it might be sitting on an uneven floor. An unstable fridge freezer is louder than normal, because it needs to work harder to keep a constant flow of air inside so your food stays cool. Thankfully, it’s a really simple fix to get it stable again.

Levelling your fridge freezer

To make your fridge freezer stable, you’ll need to adjust the feet. It won’t take you long to sort out, but you’ll need a friend to help you. Carefully tilt the machine together. One of you can then hold it steady while the other can adjust the feet. On most models, the feet work like screws so they can be twisted to change the height. If that doesn’t work, check your manual to find out how to adjust them. Make sure all the feet are the same height, unless your floor is uneven. If that’s the case, just make the feet slightly taller where the floor is lower. It may take some trial and error to get it spot on.

Contact the manufacturer

If you’re still having trouble, try checking the product manual. It’ll likely have more specific solutions for your model. If you can’t find it, or you still can’t fix the issue, try giving the manufacturer a call. They’ll be able to talk you through any further ideas.
