So, if you’re on the lookout for something that’s just as great for tight spaces as it is for larger ones, Beko’s PowerClean™ model might be the one for you. We asked @carole.poirot to test it out for us.
When we moved into our new house (over a year ago now), I quickly realised that the stairs were a lot steeper than our old ones. This meant that carrying our heavy, corded vacuum cleaner up and down them was such a pain. And, whilst we’re now really lucky to have more space, it’s just not ideal to have to constantly plug it in and drag its cable around. Doing the hoovering isn’t my favourite activity at the best of times, but all of the above simply made it worse. So with this in mind, I was super-keen to try out the Beko PowerClean™ and to see if it could make things easier. Here goes…
Hey Carole! Could you talk us through your first impressions of the Beko PowerClean™? Did you have any reservations?
Of course - my first impression was that whilst it’s not ever so light, it’s still a heck of a lot easier to carry up and down the stairs. My only worry was that it might not perform as well as my other one.
Lovely. We asked you to try it out in different places around your home, how did it do?
One of the biggest challenges I had with it was cleaning under the bed. We have black floorboards, so it’s always dark under there and really hard to keep track of what’s been picked up. It does have LED lights on the floorhead though, which were absolutely amazing for that (I can finally see where I’m cleaning). The hard floor floorhead is great for picking up the smallest bits of dirt too – particularly useful for all the feathers that come out of our bedding when we change it.
Was there anywhere that you struggled to clean with it?
I did struggle to reach under our radiators, but it is a really tight space so that’d definitely be hard with any vacuum cleaner. You win some, you lose some, eh?
Did you find any of its other features handy?
Yes! The handheld mode and mini turbo brush tool were amazing for cleaning smaller areas, like the shelving. I also loved using the ActiFlex™ nozzle, because it meant that I didn’t have to crawl around on my hands and knees to reach those awkward spots.
It sounds like it’s definitely made things simpler for you. How did it compare to other vacuums in terms of easiness and suction?
To be honest, I was blown away by its suction power. I’ve always expected a cordless model to somewhat underperform, but this one cleaned just as well as any corded one that I’ve had in the past. It’s so easy to use and the 45 minute run time is enough for me to see to the top floor. I’d probably have to re-charge it if I wanted to clean the bottom floor as well, though. On the whole, it was a pleasure to use.
