If the kids fancy a little bit of festive cookery, but you’d rather not cover the house in flour today, this festive chocolate bark is just the ticket.
This recipe is a simple layer of sweet and creamy white chocolate, dotted with festive fruits and nuts. It’s great fun for the kids and can be left in one large piece as a show-stopping festive gift, or broken into pieces to share out.
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED...
- 400g white chocolate, broken into squares
- 50g pistachios, roughly chopped
- 50g dried cranberries, roughly chopped
TIP
A few shards of the chocolate bark wrapped in clear cellophane can look really effective and would make a lovely gift.
HERE'S HOW IT'S DONE...
-
1
Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30 second bursts. When it has just a few solid chunks left, take it out and give it a good stir, the rest will melt from the residual heat.
-
2
When it’s cool enough to handle, tip the chocolate onto a tray lined with grease-proof paper and spread to the edges with a palette knife or spatula.
-
3
Sprinkle the chopped cranberries on top, aiming for an even spread.
-
4
Sprinkle on the chopped pistachios, again aiming for an even spread. If it looks like they’re not sinking in, tap the tray on the counter a couple of times to help them settle in.

Leave everything to set for an hour somewhere cool and youre done! Smash if desired.
