I have a real treat for you today! Fabulously stylish blogger and photographer extraordinaire Mademoiselle Poirot has agreed to share her beautiful and simple creation – glammed up paper bags and plain tags using simple paper doilies. You really can’t beat a craft project that’s not only easy and inexpensive but also delivers truly beautiful and unique results. It would also be a great little project for the kids to get involved with as well.
I’ve already purchased a pack of doilies and can’t wait to get started! Over to you, Mademoiselle…
Going with some of my favourites – black, white, and brown paper – I wanted to create something that was at the same time simple, individual, and a little playful. The idea was to give these paper bags and tags a bit of a romantic touch.
I used paper doilies in different sizes and designs, acrylic paints (slightly watered down) and some cut up kitchen sponges. Due to the relatively delicate and thin nature of the doilies, I kept three together to prevent them from disintegrating when the paint is applied and to make it easier to keep them in place.
