Here’s a gift that will melt any mother’s heart. Ask your little one to do a drawing and help them to transfer it to a tote bag for Mummy or Grandma to keep. We chose a rocket and moon and added the words ‘Mum, I love you to the moon and back’.

  • Paper and pencil
  • Scissors
  • Tote bag
  • Fabric scraps
  • Fabric glue
  • Fabric paint

here's how it's done...

    Draw an image on the paper using a pencil. Aim for not too much detail. Cover the reverse of the image with pencil markings.

    Decide on a layout, then transfer the image to the bag by redrawing over the original picture. Add a message to the bag in pencil.

    Cut the image into sections and draw around each part onto your chosen fabrics.

    Stick the fabric pieces onto the bag using the fabric glue, and leave to dry (check the glue instructions, you may need to iron this to set the glue). Add details using the fabric paint.

    By using your little one’s drawing, and your own fabric scraps, your bag will be individual and personal to you. How will you decorate yours?
