Tie dying is such a fun activity and summer is the best time to give it a go as you can do it all outside without having to worry about the mess.
There are so many different things you can do with it too, you can keep it simple and tie dye a tote bag or t-shirt or tie dye some material and make some clothes or toys with it. As long as whatever you are dying has a high cotton content then the possibilities are endless.
We decided to give pillowcases a go, we found some in a charity shop for £1 but supermarkets have them at a great price these days. As I mentioned above just make sure they are made of mainly cotton as that is the best material for absorbing the dye.
You can buy tie-dye kits but everywhere we looked they were out of stock so we just bought some cold water dye and used that instead.
