Cheese and Ham Tear & Share Bread

Great to share with a crowd or as a centre piece for dinner

Tear and share bread is brilliant for evenings in with friends watching the next addictive box set or to be used as the perfect accompaniment to a warming soup. No one can resist it. It’s the ultimate comfort food, buttery, warm, chewy and soft. What’s not to love?

    Here's what you'll need...

    • 450g (1lb) white bread dough
    • 30g (1oz) melted butter
    • 30g (1oz) parmesan, grated
    • 30g (1oz) cheddar, grated
    • 55g (2oz) parma ham or cooked smoked ham
    • Herbs optional

    Here's how it's done... Step 1

Mix and then knead the dough for 5 minutes. Then roll out into an oblong shape.

    Step 2

Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle the cheese and the ham, which has been cut into strips.

    Step 3

Roll up the dough like a “swiss roll”.

    Step 4

Slice into smaller pieces and arrange into a greased round tin with all the edges touching. Spinkle in the mixed herbs.

    Step 5

Prove for 30 minutes using the dough proving setting. Bake at 200°C for 20-25 minutes. Serve warm.
