Doing the laundry doesn’t have to be a chore, and our selection of built in washer dryers has everything you need to lighten the load. Whether you’re washing a steady stream of baby grows or drying work shirts, your clothes will be in good hands.

Key features to look for

It's important to look at a washer dryer’s energy rating. All our washer dryers have a rating from A to G, with A being the most efficient. The closer to A a machine is rated, the cheaper it will be to run. Great news for your clothes and your bills.

Next you’ll need to check the load capacity. Washer dryers have two capacities, one for washing and a smaller one for drying. We have models with different spin speeds too. Washer dryers with a spin speed of 1500rpm and above will remove more water from your clothes, drying them quicker.

Benefits of built in washer dryers

Integrated washer dryers give you extra room in the kitchen because they work as two machines in one. Because these models are integrated, they’ll fit seamlessly into your kitchen behind a cupboard door. It’s worth bearing in mind that you’ll need to purchase this separately, because it won’t be included when you buy the washer dryer. Our washer dryers come with all sorts of tech to take the hassle out of looking after your clothes. If you’d like to do some laundry when you’re not in the kitchen, we have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth models that can be controlled from an app, meaning you can play a board game with the kids and keep an eye on the cycle at the same time. Or if someone in your home has sensitive skin, look for a washer dryer with an anti-allergy programme. It removes dust mites, pollen and other irritants to leave fabrics completely hygienic. You can also buy integrated washing machines with dryers that have a fast wash – anything from 14 minutes to 44, perfect when you have a packed schedule. And of course, we all want to lower our energy bills, so head over to our top tips for ways to keep costs down.

Choosing the right built in washer dryer for your home

All your favourite household names are here at AO, from Hoover to Hotpoint, Beko, Siemens and Whirlpool. Hoover is well known for their reliability and long-lasting appliances, while Siemens pack washer dryers with clever tech. Candy is also a good option if you’re on a budget – they won’t break your bank and come with nifty features like KG Detector, which adapts the programme to suit each load, helping to save energy.

Measurement guide

Since you’re buying a built-in model, just remember to include the cupboard door when you’re measuring up. Washer dryers are usually 85cm tall, but you can find the exact dimensions on our product pages. Be sure to factor in the furniture door as well. Also, you’ll need to leave an extra 7cm at the back for the pipes to fit. If you’re not sure how to get this right, head over to our measurement guide. And if you’d like further info before you decide, check out our washing machine & washer dryer buying guide for more information.
