    Chocolate Orange Millionaire’s Shortbread

    Everybody loves Millionaire’s Shortbread, right? Check out our twist on the classic with our chocolate orange millionaire's shortbread.

    "Sometimes we just need a seriously indulgent treat. One that is so indulgent that one piece will be more than enough. And Millionaire’s Shortbread is exactly that. To make it a little more special (ok, more than it already is), this one is made with dark chocolate orange segments that add another fab layer of flavour."

    Here's what you'll need...

    • 225g plain flour
    • 175g unsalted butter, cut into cubes
    • 75g golden caster sugar

    For the Caramel:

    • 1 can of condensed milk (379g)
    • 150 unsalted butter
    • 100g golden syrup

    For the Chocolate Topping:

    • 2 x dark chocolate oranges

    Here's how it's done... Step 1

    Put the flour and cold butter cubes into a food processor and mix until you have a crumbly texture. Now add the sugar and mix again until combined.

     

    Step 2

    Put the mix into your baking tin then smooth and press it down with the back of a spoon. Put the tin into your oven and bake for 30-40 minutes until light golden, then leave to cool.

     

    Step 3

    To make the caramel, heat the condensed milk, butter and golden syrup in a saucepan until you have a smooth mix.

     

    Step 4

    Now turn the heat up and bring the caramel to a boil whilst continuously stirring until it has thickened and is golden brown.

     

    Step 5

    Take the caramel off the heat a leave to cool slightly before pouring it over the shortbread. Leave the caramel/shortbread to cool completely.

     

    Step 6

    To melt the chocolate put the pieces into a heat-proof dish and set it over a saucepan with hot water making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water.

     

    Step 7

    Once completely melted, pour the chocolate over the caramel and leave to set.

     

    Step 8

    Once set, cut the shortbread into 16 squares and serve.
