    Doughnut Ice-cream Sandwiches

Are you ready to hop on the latest Instagram craze? Come and find out how to make doughnut ice-cream sandwiches!

"If you’re planning on eating clean and detoxing this summer look away now. The latest food trend taking over our social feeds is ice-cream doughnuts. Here are a few different ways you can indulge in the trend and hold off that diet until Monday!"

    Here's what you'll need...

    • 6 regular doughnuts (shop-bought or homemade, cooled)
    • About 400 ml good-quality ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or your favourite, ensure this is softened).
    • Optional toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, shredded coconut

    Here's how it's done...

    Step 1

Slice each doughnut horizontally to create two even halves and set aside.

    Step 2

Spoon a generous scoop of ice cream onto the bottom half of each doughnut and spread evenly.

    Step 3

Top with the other doughnut half, pressing gently to sandwich the ice cream without squashing the doughnut.

    Step 4

For a fun twist, roll the edges in crushed nuts, sprinkles, or your preferred topping.

    Step 5

Place the sandwiches on a tray and freeze for at least 1 hour to firm up before serving.
