    What is Micro RGB?

    Micro RGB is a type of LED backlight system that sits behind the LCD panel on a TV.

    Micro RGB uses thousands of pixels in clusters, also known as pixel zones, that are made up of red, green, and blue lights to create rich, accurate colours, strong contrast, and incredibly sharp detail. Sounds great, but how does it compare to other models? We’ve got everything you need to know.

    How does Micro RGB work?

    Most LED TVs use a backlight that’s just white or blue, while a Micro RGB TV uses a backlight system made up of red, green, and blue lights. That means every pixel zone lights up the right colour from the start, so you’ve got more control over the brightness, colour, and contrast –  as well as a wide spectrum of colour.

    Highly precise colour with advanced RGB control. Newer models can reach full
    coverage of the highest HDR content standard.
     Rich, accurate colours which perform strongly across common colour standards. But it covers a smaller portion of the highest HDR content standard, offering a slightly smaller spectrum.
     Contrast  Deep blacks with a strong contrast.  True blacks with pixel-level lighting for stark contrast.
     Clarity  
    Delivers a very clear picture but can geta “halo-effect” around the edges.
     
    Incredibly sharp picture with clear lines thanks to pixels turning on and off independently.
     Durability These models are made for long-term performance, and they don’t have a risk of screen burn – this is when pixels are damaged and leave a permanent background image on-screen even after the picture’s changed. After long-term use, there’s a small risk of screen burn from damaged pixels.
