Other essentials
To make the Oreo Pops, separate the Oreos into halves by twisting the cookies gently.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 6 white candy melts in 15-second increments, stirring in between. Once you have achieved a melted consistency, dip ends of lollipop sticks in the melted candy melt and place in the middle of the separated Oreo cookies.
Carefully place the other half on top of the cookies. Repeat the process with the remaining Oreos.
Arrange these prepared Oreos in a large tray and stick them in the freezer for 5 minutes to firm up.
In another microwave safe bowl, add 1/2 the cup of white candy melt and melt in 15 second increments, stirring in between (for about 1 minute or so in total).
Dip the firmed up Oreo pops in the melted candy until they are completely covered. Remember to tap the edge of the lollipop stick gently on the bowl to shake off any excess candy. Place them separated on the cookie sheet layered with parchment paper.
If you are planning to decorate with sprinkles, add them when the candy is still wet.
Repeat the process with blue and red candy melt.
To add a drizzle of color, fill a ziploc bag with 10 candy melts. Microwave them for 15 second increments. Remember to knead the bag in between the increments. Snip a tiny end of the bag and drizzle the melted candy in zig-zag lines on the Oreo pops. Allow the Oreo Pops to settle and firm before handling them to kids.
