Most fridges are designed to last between 10 and 20 years. If you start to notice problems cropping up after you’ve had it for more than 10 years, then it may be cheaper to replace ol’ faithful.
If you overload your fridge with too much food, then you can prevent cold air from circulating as it should. This means the fridge will have to work harder and add a few pennies to your electricity bills. It can also lead to issues such as opening the fridge door to find the pickle jar fully frozen.
Fridges are pretty hefty and can weigh anywhere between 45kg to 180kg. However, this depends on the type of fridge you’ve got – an under-counter fridge will be lighter than a tall, upright fridge.
Luckily, you can find the weight of all our fridges on their product page, we even throw in the dimensions so you can check it fits.
Different types of fridges have different heights depending on what model you buy. For example, an upright fridge could be around 200cm, while an under-counter model would be around 85cm. Fortunately, we keep all the dimensions on our product pages and even have a handy measurement guide to help you find the best fit.
A freestanding fridge would typically be around 60cm wide. Meanwhile, under-counter fridges tend to be a bit thinner. You can find all of our appliance’s dimensions on their product pages.
If your fridge is leaking water, then it could be a sign of trouble. From leaky water supply lines to clogged defrost drains, there could be plenty of causes. All of our cooling appliances come with warranties so make sure to get in touch with the manufacturer if you start to notice water pooling.
