It cleans very effectively and is beautifully quiet, but the internal layout doesn't meet our needs at all. The baskets aren't flat-fronted but have two "bay windows" either side of the handle, and this limits the types of items we can fit in there rather than increasing the overall space. There aren't enough wide-spaced tines on the bottom rack for our deep plates, bowls and handled saucepan lids - just three in each row - and the top rack has too many complicated angles for our needs. We don't use wine glasses, only short and tall tumblers, and these will not stand up properly on the angled basket. Our old Lamona used to fit all our rounded bowls, 6 in a row, on the top rack, and two rows of our short and tall tumblers and pint glasses, with all our utensils slid in between them, and still had space left over for a small extra dish or two and our grater, but the spacing and positioning of the tines and the sharp angles on this Hotpoint basket has halved that capacity. I used to slide silicone spatulas down between the side of the basket and my row of tumblers, but that's not possible in this dishwasher and my utensils are too big for the cutlery drawer, so now I have to lay them between the tines, taking up spaces for our plates. I used to love tetris-ing my old Lamona and am very good at it even with this new Hotpoint, but despite being called Maxi-Space, it actually fits a lot less in, which I find immensely frustrating! If you mostly use flat plates without a deep rim, shallow bowls, slimline utensils, wine glasses rather than tall tumbers, and you hand wash your saucepan lids, then this may be the dishwasher for you.

It’s excellent. The extra knives and fork drawer instead of a basket allows much more space in the bottom rack. It has a light that shines into the floor to show it is switched on. The door opens when the cycle is finished.

Does what is says on the tin??

Good machine. 3D works well but takes a long time. I like the door opening feature, it dries a lot quicker than previous machine. Also more spacious than previous one.

This is our 4th Hotpoint dishwasher and regrettably the worst. If I could exchange it tomorrow I would! The 3 hr 24 minute eco wash consistently leaves unclean items, standard sized plates and bowls suddenly don’t fit and the cutlery tray, whilst a great idea, doesn’t hold the cutlery so it all falls over. No slight on AO who have always been great, but this product is poorly designed.
