Edo-era Kyoto should be the beating heart of Japan, but malevolent clouds of Malice hang over every street, and monstrosities from the underworld known as the Genma stalk the shadows. That's the setting of Onimusha Way of the Sword, a dark fantasy action RPG following a samurai who bears the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artefact that grants its wearer the power to slay Genma. Every stage is cloaked in mystery and intrigue, and ends in gritty, blood-soaked swordplay against creatures that shouldn't exist. As he cuts a path through the twisted capital, the samurai is chasing something less tangible than victory, his reason to fight at all. What fate waits for him at the end of that road? You'll have to pick up the sword yourself to find out.
