    How to make a cappuccino

There’s nothing like settling down with a hug in a mug after a long day. So, save yourself a trip out by learning to make barista-worthy drinks at home with these easy steps.

If you’re craving a cappuccino, we’ve got tons of tips to get that professional finish from your very own coffee machine. First step: espresso!

    Cosy cappuccinos

A cappuccino typically comes in a 150–180ml cup and has a light, creamy texture. It’s made with a shot of espresso, steamed milk, and a generous layer of foam, giving it a stronger taste than a latte while still feeling smooth and indulgent.

    Ingredients:

    • 30-60ml espresso
    • 150ml milk
    • Cocoa or cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)

    Here's how it's done

    Step 1

Brew the espresso – 1 shot or 2 to suit your mood.

    Step 2

Steam the milk at around 65°C, stretching it out so the volume goes up around 50% - that’s the foam building.

    Step 3

Tap the jug and swirl it to disperse any bigger bubbles and pour the steamed milk into the espresso from the side.

    Step 4

Top with the foam and dust with any optional extras.

    Tips

Froth the milk from cold for a smoother texture, and use whole milk for a richer flavour.
