Long day, full sink? Load up this Smeg freestanding dishwasher and let the Orbital Wash system take over. Its double spray arm spreads water evenly around the stainless steel tub, so the plates at the back come out as clean as the ones at the front. Three baskets, a foldable upper rack and the EasyGlide runners let you shuffle things around for awkward pans, while the built-in water softener keeps limescale off your glassware.

At the end of the cycle, Dry Assist slowly opens the door a few centimetres to let the steam out, helping with drying. The inverter motor runs at 46dB, which is quiet enough to carry on watching telly in the next room. Other handy bits include a delay timer and an LED display showing the time remaining, plus salt and rinse aid indicators.
