Scrubbing plates after a long day is nobody's idea of fun, so this Smeg freestanding dishwasher steps in. Its Planetarium Wash System swings the spray arm in a double movement at 65 rotations per minute, so water gets into corners and around awkward pans. The lower basket takes 30cm plates and the upper basket shifts between three heights. The FlexiDuo third basket splits into two sections that stack or lift out, so cups and bulky utensils can ride up top.

When the cycle ends, Dry Assist+ opens the door by itself, letting steam escape so your crockery air-dries on the heat that's already in the tub. No tea towel needed. The AquaTest sensor reads how cloudy the water is and adjusts the wash to match, while the FlexiZone Half Load option cuts back the water and heating when there's only half a rack to do. Add the built-in water softener and limescale stays off your glasses. Rather good, that.
