Short on kitchen space? This Hotpoint slimline dishwasher measures just 45cm wide and still takes 10 place settings. The 3D Zone Wash option adds an independent spray arm, pushing up to 80% more water power at your dirtiest pans compared with the same cycle run without the option switched on. Once a cycle finishes, ActiveDry opens the door by 10cm as soon as the inside temperature falls to around 40°C, so air circulates and everything dries without extra heat, using up to 40% less energy than the same programme with ActiveDry turned off. Clever bit of kit.

Auto Programmes read the load and how dirty it is, then set the cycle themselves, which can cut water use by up to 50% on the Auto Mixed programme when compared with its most intensive run. Pick Auto Intensive for burnt-on grime, or Auto Fast when you want the plates back in the cupboard sooner. The Sanitising Cycle removes up to 99.999% of bacteria, tested by VDE Prüf- und Zertifizierungsinstitut GmbH, and the stainless steel tub stands up to the heat.
