    Features we love

Cooking on the hob made even safer

Preparing dishes on the hob couldn’t get any faster, safer or more efficient, thanks to induction technology. Unlike your gas or ceramic hob, induction ones use electromagnets beneath the surface to recognise the size and shape of your induction pans. This tells it exactly where it needs to send heat to, and it’ll only start to warm up when your pot is on top, keeping you safe in the kitchen.

Cook with larger pots and pans

AEG’s Double Bridging Zones feature combines zones on each side of the hob to create two larger areas. Just tap the feature’s button on the control panel, and the front and back zones will merge together. You can even connect both sides at the same time, creating space to cook larger dishes for more people. It’s the ideal reason to expand your culinary horizons, and the perfect excuse to buy that fancy plancha grill.

    Always cook safely and efficiently

The MaxiSense® feature on this induction hob detects the size and shape of your pans, however big or small they are. By doing this, it knows exactly where your pots are and only sends heat to that area. As energy isn’t being wasted around the outside of the zones, the surface is cool to touch everywhere else. This means it’s not only really efficient, but it’s super-safe too.

    Create the perfect cooking area

By connecting this hood to a compatible hob, AEG’s Hob2Hood feature offers a hands-free way of managing your cooking environment. When you turn your hob on, it communicates with the hood via infrared, so the lights will come on too. It’ll even recognise when your kitchen is getting smokier and will boost the power to control it. This means that you’ll never find yourself fumbling with the controls.

    Cooking on style

The controls on this contemporary AEG hob are completely responsive to your touch. When it’s not in use, the controls turn black and blend in with the rest of the hob’s surface. Then, when it senses either a fingertip or an induction pan on the surface, the sleek interface will light up and spring into action. This not only makes it super-responsive to use, but it’ll always look effortlessly stylish too.

    Tips for measuring up

When measuring for an induction hob, the depth and height are usually standard, so you should focus on measuring the width – it’ll be between 60 and 90cm. Also, you need to make sure no cupboards will hang over the hob, and that there’s at least 65cm between the hob and your cooker hood.

    Great looking Hob

    5/5
Good looking, virtually black slab of glass with no marking lines when off. Very pretty when on. Easy to operate, faster with better control than previous ceramic hob. Have to get used to the different noises. Very pleased with look and operation, not looking forward to the inevitable first scratch!

    Great induction hob

    5/5
This induction hob from AEG ticks all the boxes for me. It’s quiet, super fast, easy to clean and looks great in my kitchen. A free extension to the manufacturers warranty to two years is a bonus too. I did need to replace most of my pans though as my old ones weren’t compatible with a induction hob so be aware of the potential extra expense if you go for induction hobs.
