Freestanding laundry installation
Everything you need to know about our freestanding laundry installation service.
Whether it’s a new washing machine, washer dryer or condenser tumble dryer, our fully trained team can get it set up from just £30. Find out what’s included in this service and what you can do to prepare for us.
What we'll do
We’ll get your new appliance unpacked once we arrive so we can get started. Then, we’ll connect it to a water supply and plug it into a standard socket. Simple.
Once your new appliance is safety installed in its new home, we’ll snap a quick picture of it for our records.
We’ll also run a cycle test (no bikes involved). We’ll turn on your new appliance and test it out to make sure everything is working properly and there are no problems.
Before we leave, we’ll pick up all the packaging and take it with us. Save you some space in your bin. Chosen our Remove & Recycle service? We’ll take your old model with us once we’re done.
What you need to do
Make sure there’s easy access to your kitchen and enough space for your new appliance. Take a look at our measurement guide to make measuring up easy.
If you’ve not chosen our disconnection service, you’ll have to make sure your old appliance is out of the way before we arrive. You’ll need to have a plug socket within 1 metre of where your new appliance will be living.
If you’re getting a washing machine or washer dryer, make sure you have a cold water supply and waste hose connector nearby. Can’t see these? Get in touch to see if we can still install for you.
If your new washing machine or washer dryer is going next to a dishwasher, then you’ll need a Y piece to split the cold water supply between the two appliances. Don’t have one? You can find them in any hardware store.
What we don't cover
Here’s everything our installation service doesn’t cover.
- We won’t be able to install if your new appliance is hardwired or there isn’t a plug socket within 1 metre of where it’s going.
- We’re unable to disconnect integrated appliances and install freestanding ones in their place.
- If there’s an issue with your plumbing, we won’t be able to install. If your water flow is acting up or you’re missing necessary parts, we’ll have to rearrange.
- We can’t make any changes to the plumbing in your house.
- For safety reasons, we can’t install in your bathroom or on top of another appliance. (We’ve had stranger requests).
- We also can’t install vented tumble dryers. Sorry.
FAQs
- Will you hardwire my new washing machine?
Sorry, but no. We’ll only plug it into an existing power supply.
- Will you disconnect my old washing machine?
Disconnection is a separate service that you’ll need to select in the basket.
- Can you install on a different day to delivery?
No. Installation can only be done on delivery day.
- Can I add installation after ordering?
Yes, you can. But this might affect your delivery day, as it depends if any of our engineers are available. You can add installation up until 2pm the day before your original delivery date. Jump on live chat or give us a ring to get this sorted.
- How soon can I have my washing machine installed?
Installation is available 7 days a week, but this depends on your location and what engineers are available. You can see what dates are available by adding a product to the basket and entering your postcode.
- Do you install at weekends and bank holidays?
Yes, we do. This depends on where you are and what engineers are available. You can see what dates are available by adding a product to the basket and entering your postcode.
- I live in Northern Ireland, can you still install?
Yes, we install in Northern Ireland, but it’ll be our trusted partners that will drop off your appliance and do the installation. However, we don't offer installation on tumble dryers.
- How much does freestanding laundry installation cost?
Installation is £30 for washing machines, washer dryers and heat pump tumble dryers, and £15 for condenser tumble dryers. Sometimes we do promotional discounts which you’ll see on our product pages and basket or when browsing the site.
