Looking for a thoughtful and personalised gift to give this Christmas? Why not try making your own DIY alphabet mug using an old mug and some craft paint? This fun, easy and quick DIY is the perfect present for friends or family who love a good cup of tea or coffee this festive season.
You'll need
- An old ceramic mug
- Craft paint (acrylic or porcelain)
- Paintbrushes or paint pens
- Oven (if your paint needs heat-setting)
Wash and dry your mug thoroughly. A quick wipe with rubbing alcohol helps the paint stick better.
Use brushes or paint pens to decorate your mug however you like – patterns, quotes, doodles, you name it!
Let the paint dry completely. If your paint needs heat-setting, pop the mug in a cold oven, heat to 160°C, bake for 30 minutes, then let it cool inside.
Once it’s cool, your mug is ready to use or gift! Just hand-wash to keep it looking fab.
