Tried and Tested: Recreating a Cinema Experience with LG in the Comfort of Your Own Home

It is said that around 80% of us tend to stick to the default setting on our TV, which means you could be missing out on the full potential of your purchase. I wanted to venture beyond the norm to try and replicate a cinema experience with the often-unused settings!

Firstly, I cannot express how simple it is to switch from setting to setting! Whether it’s a film, a cooking programme or a football match, LG has specific settings to enhance and amplify your favourite films and programmes. To change your LG TV settings, all you have to do is follow 3 easy steps.

    1) Press the settings button on the remote

    2) Select Picture Mode From the quick settings menu on screen

    3) Choose the picture pre-set to match what you’re watching (I.e. sport/cinema)

Date Night with Film Maker Mode

While date nights to watch a new release feel like a distant memory, that’s not to say we can’t get creative in our own home!

We paid homage to Friday night cinema trips by setting the scene with popcorn, nachos and our favourite beverages - all at arm’s length. All that was left, was to test LG’s Film Maker Mode in hopes it will take our viewing experience to the next level.

From the get-go, the image quality was immaculate, so we thought we’d really push it to the limits with a good old action film.

LG’s Film Maker Mode places picture quality front of mind. It was designed to showcase movies just as the filmmaker intended. The Film Maker Mode enhances your must-see movies by overriding traditional TV processing to provide jaw-dropping detail. It does this by disabling all post-processing (i.e. motion smoothing) and delivering the correct colours, frame rates and aspect ratios. It aims to match the industry standard as closely as possible – and it’s safe to say, it definitely does!

Football's Coming Home with Sports Picture Mode

It’s coming home! With live sport making a return to our screens, we thought we’d celebrate by reliving a classic iconic match.

When watching sports on my old TV, I found that the picture kept lagging due to the fast motion of the game which became increasingly annoying! The Sports Picture Mode optimises the quality suited for all fast-moving sports; the image is sharpened to give the sensation that you’re watching from a stadium.

Keeping the Kids Entertained with HDR

LG’s generic setting is far from ordinary and is a dream for keeping the kids entertained! Children’s TV is famous for its bright colours and animations, so I was blown away when I found out its display can showcase over a billion colours!

HDR, High Dynamic Range, sets the bar for all Ultra HD TVs with the clear, crisp and vivid picture quality. The kids love it as they feel fully immersed in their favourite programmes. HDR works especially well with interactive shows, as the characters look incredibly realistic with the dynamic frames and vibrant detail!

It’s safe to say the LG TV exceeded our expectations! It delivers perfect visual and sound quality and has a setting catered to everyone’s preferred channel or film.

It has helped us recreate a cinema experience in the comfort of our own home (no overpriced popcorn in sight) and in doing so, allowed us to make new memories as a family. I definitely approve!
