Accept & closeFind out how to make your own watermelon soap and give your bathroom a summery treat!
Be careful as these DIY watermelon soaps look so real you’ll have to stop yourself from eating them. Not only are they super easy to make but they smell delicious!
Tip: Make sure you act quick when you are melting the soap base as it can set quite quickly.
1.5 kg Crystal clear soap base
500g Goats milk soap base
Green and red soap colourant
Poppy seeds
Watermelon soap fragrance
Silicone loaf soap mould
Start with the red layer
This is the juicy watermelon part. Melt 1 kg of clear soap base until fully liquid. Stir in red colourant, fragrance, and poppy seeds for that authentic look. Pour into the mould, filling it about two-thirds full. Spritz the top with rubbing alcohol to remove bubbles and let it firm up a bit.
Next, the white layer
Melt 500g goat’s milk soap base and let it cool slightly so it doesn’t melt the red layer. Gently pour a thin layer over the red soap. Give it another spritz of alcohol to keep things smooth.
Now for the green rind
Melt 500g clear soap base, then mix in green colourant and a little fragrance. Once the white layer has set, pour the green soap on top. A final spritz of alcohol keeps the layers crisp.
Let it set. Give it a few hours (or overnight) to fully harden.
Unmould and slice. Once firm, pop it out of the mould and cut into bars. Now you’ve got fresh, handmade watermelon soap, ready to use.
